LIFE IN PIECES: Betsy Brandt and Angelique Cabral Preview the New CBS Comedy

CBS is introducing a new family comedy series, but it has a twist: LIFE IN PIECES tells four separate stories in each episode…but they all are centered around one extended family, and the very separate relationship stages its members are in.
John and Joan are the long-married parents of three adult children: Heather, the eldest, is married to Tim, and they have three kids of their own; Matt is the middle child, and he’s in a new relationship with Colleen (who still shares a home with her ex-fiance); and the youngest is Greg, who just had his first child with his wife, Jen.
In addition to the show’s unique storytelling format, the series is also getting a plum launching pad — it’s airing after THE BIG BANG THEORY.
“I’ve been a part of other shows that were not so widely beloved or supported by the network, so I’m blown away, to be totally honest with you; I think CBS is doing all they can to make the show a hit,” LIFE IN PIECES star Angelique Cabral (Colleen) shared. “It’s a sweet family show that everyone will be able to relate to. I think there’s a little bit for everyone: it catches…all of the stages of life. I think it’s very palatable for Americans, with the short format, with the four stories; I think it’s going to be good for short attention spans. I actually think people are going to love that. I hope it changes the tide of TV. It feels amazing. I’m pinching myself every day.”
Cabral’s co-star, Betsy Brandt (Heather), echoed that it was the show’s unique angle that helped draw her to it.

The upcoming Fox procedural BACKSTROM has nabbed yet another guest star: ENLISTED’s Angelique Cabral!
A rep for the show has confirmed that Cabral will play Samantha Orland, a Fire Bureau investigator in the upcoming episode which focuses on a serial arsonist, and also co-guest stars WAREHOUSE 13’s Eddie McClintock. (McClintock will play a firefighter/Backstrom’s childhood bully.)
E! News was first to report the casting.
BACKSTROM follows Detective Backstrom (who is not a people-person, but is good at his job) and his cohorts at Portland Police Bureau’s Special Crimes Unit. The series also stars Dennis Haysbert, Kristoffer Polaha, Page Kennedy, Beatrice Rosen, Thomas Dekker, and Genevieve Angelson.
Are you excited to see Cabral on BACKSTROM?

ENLISTED is going on a bit of a hiatus after this week, but at least the show is (temporarily) leaving us on a perfectly fitting note: the platoon becomes the victim of a huge mechanical spider, whose weapon, well, makes people use the restroom.
I visited the set while they were filming this episode, and Geoff Stults (Pete), Chris Lowell (Derrick), Parker Young (Randy), and Angelique Cabral (Jill) teased a bit of what viewers can expect from “Paint Cart 5000 vs. The Mondo Spider”…
ENLISTED: The Cast and Producers Share Why You Should Watch Their New Comedy
January 8, 2014 by Marisa Roffman

There are a lot of shows debuting over the next few weeks — the good, the bad, the “what the heck did I just watch?!” — but Fox’s comedy, ENLISTED, is one of the bright spots.
I could tell you all the reasons why I love the show (which I have done and will continue to do over the next couple of days), but the fact is, the people associated with ENLISTED know it better than anyone else…so I asked the cast (Geoff Stults, Chris Lowell, Parker Young, Angelique Cabral, and Keith David) and the producers (Kevin Biegel and Mike Royce) to pitch why viewers should tune in to the series premiere this week.
Take a look at their responses…
ENLISTED Webisodes: The Cast Goes Through Boot Camp

Comments Off on ENLISTED Webisodes: The Cast Goes Through Boot Camp
ENLISTED — the new Fox comedy about a group of misfits on an Army base — is not only one of the most heartfelt/ genuine (and good) shows of the upcoming midseason, but the actors are committed to getting their parts down.
Over the summer, the cast (Geoff Stults, Chris Lowell, Parker Young, Angelique Cabral, and Keith David) went to a real boot camp in Texas and underwent basic training…and Fox filmed it all.
The webseries — and what they went through — is actually pretty amazing, so check it out…
