We’re just six weeks from THE FLASH’s return, and when viewers find Barry Allen in season 2, he won’t be in the best place.
“Barry has some acclaim, and a lot of love from the city for being the hero he is, and he doesn’t really feel like a hero,” THE FLASH star Grant Gustin (Barry/The Flash) told reporters in the video below. “One of the things that’s really weighing heavily on Barry is he knows Eddie stopped Wells [in the season finale], and that he was the hero that day. But everyone’s giving that credit to The Flash. That’s not fun or easy, I think, for Barry.”
Check out the video for more from Gustin, including why Barry will attempt to be a “lone wolf” in the sophomore year, season 1’s emotional moments, and more… Read more

THE FLASH’s Barry Allen has a new goal in mind: find a way to travel back to the night his mother died, and save her from her untimely death. Unfortunately, things might not be as “easy” as Barry had hoped.
“Time travel is something we’re dealing with immediately,” Grant Gustin (Barry) teases in the video below. “[But] Barry starts to learn that maybe changing things isn’t an option.”
In the meantime, tonight’s hour is a big one. In addition to being delightfully fun — and, as THE FLASH co-star Tom Cavanagh (Wells) joked with reporters, “Hashtag game-changer.” — executive producer Andrew Kreisberg pointed to “Out of Time” as the best episode of the show’s run so far.

THE FLASH and ARROW have been loosely tied together since Barry Allen debuted on ARROW a year ago, but this week, the dramas embark on a full-on crossover as Team Arrow visits THE FLASH in “Flash vs. Arrow,” while Team Flash pops over on ARROW during “The Brave and the Bold.”
“The best thing you can do is it’s not just a gimmick,” ARROW/THE FLASH executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told reporters earlier this season. “[These crossovers are] also advancing the storylines that we’ve been telling and your characters really grow…both of these crossovers, they’re not just about the crossovers of the cast — they are really important episodes for what Barry has been going through, and what Oliver’s going through. We have one of the biggest surprises of ARROW of all time on THE FLASH episode [of the crossover]. And both episodes are really important for Barry’s growth.”
“It was fun to have the dynamic back from when I was [first] on ARROW a year ago,” THE FLASH star Grant Gustin (Barry) added. “That was when I met Barry, and he was so fun and awkward, and the dynamic between him and Oliver was so fun. And we got to recreate that. And it’s evolved. It’s really different than anything else on the show, which is nice.”
For more on the crossover, Gustin and ARROW star Stephen Amell (Oliver) teased a few more secrets while speaking with reporters on the shows’ Vancouver sets…

Tonight’s episode of THE FLASH is a big one…not only does ARROW’s Felicity crosses over, and Wentworth Miller makes his debut as Captain Cold, but THE FLASH star Grant Gustin (Barry) teased that there is a pretty awesome action sequence to look forward to.
“There’s a sequence in episode 104 that’s the coolest sequence of action,” Gustin said in the video below. “1×04 just has everything. I love 1×04.”
Check out what else Gustin teased about Felicity’s return in Barry’s life, Captain Cold, Barry working on his mother’s murder case, and more…

The CW’s THE FLASH is one of the most anticipated (and best) new shows of the upcoming television season, and the series is already upping the ante before it even officially premieres — the freshman superhero drama is set to stage several crossovers with fellow CW/DC Comics series, ARROW (where Grant Gustin’s version of Barry Allen made his debut in late 2013) in the first batch of episodes.
At Comic-Con, THE FLASH (and ARROW) executive producer Andrew Kreisberg sat down with reporters to talk about the importance of doing the upcoming crossovers (while also balancing ARROW’s realism with THE FLASH’s more fantastical tone), getting to write Barry Allen, and much more.

Comments Off on THE FLASH: ARROW’s Stephen Amell to Appear in the Pilot
THE FLASH isn’t wasting any time bringing people from ARROW on board: ARROW star Stephen Amell (Oliver) will appear in THE FLASH’s pilot.
Amell actually appears in THE FLASH’s extended trailer (starting at 3:55), but a rep for the shows confirms it’s not just a scene for the trailer to tie the shows together — it will appear in THE FLASH’s first official episode.
Are you excited to see Oliver and Barry share more screentime together?

THE FLASH, The CW’s ARROW “spinoff,” has had a fair amount of exposure over the past six or so months, as the pilot was originally set to be a backdoor pilot during the second half of ARROW’s sophomore season (and Barry Allen was introduced in an arc in the show’s 2013 episodes).
But now, Barry Allen will officially have his own series, and THE FLASH will be paired this fall with SUPERNATURAL on Tuesdays. And while we got teases of The Flash’s mask and full costume (and teaser aired during last night’s ARROW finale), we now have a few photos from the episode, the network’s official description of the series, and a proper trailer.

It’s been more than four months since it was announced that Flash/Barry Allen would be making his debut in the ARROW universe (with the intention to build a spinoff around that character), and tonight is the night viewers will finally get to meet him.
“Barry comes to Starling City because there is an unexplained robbery at Queen Consolidated, and Barry is very interested in the unexplained throughout the course of these two episodes,” ARROW executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased to reporters earlier this week. “[Barry]’s the opposite of Oliver in a lot of ways: he’s funny and he’s outgoing, and a little unsure of himself, and smart.”
As for Barry’s portrayer — former GLEE guest star Grant Gustin — ARROW executive producers have nothing but praise for their newest star.
