BATES MOTEL has scored a two-season pickup, A&E announced. Season 4 will bow at sometime in 2016.
“The vision of our incredible creative team has exposed the steady breakdown of the relationship between Norman and Norma Bates,” said Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager, A&E and Lifetime, in a statement. “We are thrilled to bring fans two more seasons to witness the next stages of Norman’s transformation into the most notorious psychopath in cinematic history.”
The series — which follows a young Norman Bates and his, um, twisted relationship with his mother, Norma — recently concluded its third season. (And while season 5 isn’t officially confirmed as the end, the showrunners had previously spoken of a five-year plan.)
BATES MOTEL co-creator Kerry Ehrin also took to Twitter to celebrate the show’s official renewal.
It’s Official. 2 seasons renewed. I feel like I’ve been pregnant and I can finally tell people.
