BIG SKY - “Pilot” – While on a road trip to visit her boyfriend in Montana, Danielle Sullivan and her sister Grace are kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote part of the highway, setting off a chain of events that leads private detectives Cody Hoyt and Cassie Dewell to team up with Cody’s estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for the sisters. David E. Kelley is returning to network television with the new ABC thriller BIG SKY.
In the drama, inspired by C.J. Box’s book series, two sisters go missing while on a road trip. To try and solve the case, private detectives Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) and Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) work with Cody’s (maybe) estranged wife, Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) to figure out what’s going on.

ABC has handed out renewals to THE ROOKIE, A MILLION LITTLE THINGS, STUMPTOWN, MIXED-ISH, and more.
Additionally, the network has ordered BIG SKY, from David E. Kelley, which stars Katheryn Winnick and Kylie Bunbury, and CALL YOUR MOTHER, starring Kyra Sedgwick.
“At a time when we are physically apart and shared experiences matter more than ever, these shows will build on the strategy that has made us No. 1 this season – bringing people together, creating cultural moments, and making content that entertains and inspires across generations and demographics,” said Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment, in a statement. “Our top priority now is to work with our studio partners to ensure a safe return to production so that we can build on the strong momentum of a winning lineup with measured bets on new series that will invigorate our air and continue to deliver the quality programming that our viewers have come to expect and love.”
