BONES is airing its season finale on Monday, and yes, it’s a pretty big hour for the show. In fact, the hour is so big, the creative people who work on the show have been teasing what’s going to go down since January. (And even better? After viewing the episode myself, even the earliest teases remained totally relevant/accurate about the hour.)
If you’re counting down the minutes until the season 9 closer, “The Recluse in the Recliner,” I’ve compiled what the people who make BONES have teased about the big finale in recent months and added a few of my own teases…

BONES has been off the air for a few weeks, but the show returns this Monday for the first of two brand new episodes (the season finale airs the following week, May 19th).
To get fans (even more) excited about the final two hours of the season, BONES stars Emily Deschanel (Brennan) and David Boreanaz (Booth) hopped on a conference call with reporters and shared a bit of what’s to come…

BONES boss Stephen Nathan has promised season 9 will end with “a pretty substantial cliffhanger,” and we’re less than two weeks away from finding out what that will mean for Booth, Brennan, and the rest of the Jeffersonian team.

BONES: Tamara Taylor on the Ghost Killer Resolution and the Crazy Season Finale

BONES is taking another crack at the Ghost Killer case on Monday, and like showrunner Stephen Nathan teased, the case will be getting wrapped up…well, sort of.
“We actually do solve the Ghost Killer case, but that unfortunately unravels and opens up Pandora’s box,” BONES star Tamara Taylor (Cam) previewed. “It’s much deeper than we thought. It all goes much deeper than we thought. I think the team thinks that we’ve finally done it, everybody breathes a sigh of relief, and then it’s like, ‘Oh, but there’s more.'”
Unfortunately for the team, the tension doesn’t exactly let up: the May 12th season finale — which Nathan had teased would consist of “a pretty substantial cliffhanger” that will “at least temporarily change the way all of the crimes are dealt with” — puts Booth and Brennan is a precarious situation.

BONES viewers have been getting to know squintern Arastoo since his season 4 introduction, but in light of his serious relationship with Cam, his parents will finally be introduced in Monday’s brand new episode, “The Cold in the Case.” And in the tradition of BONES characters being given incredible actors/performers to portray their parents (Ryan O’Neal, Billy Gibbons, and Joanna Cassidy), the series recruited Emmy-winner/Academy Award-nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo to play Arastoo’s mother.
“They approached me [for the role],” Aghdashloo (Deena Vaziri) shared of getting involved with the Fox series. “My agents called me and told me I had an offer, and I went, ‘I like that show, let me read it’ — I’m very particular about my work, so I have to read it before [accepting things] — and I’m reading it and the first thing I see is [her name is] Mrs. Vaziri?…I was so overwhelmed with the name of my character, because the character’s [last name] is my real family name. My parents didn’t allow me to become an actor, so I got married first, and I used my first husband’s family name to become an actor.”
“I get to the set, and I told the director [Milan Cheylov], whom every actor would give a leg and an arm to work with — I enjoyed working with him and everybody so much — and I said, ‘Milan! Did you know my real family name is Vaziri?'” she continued. “And he went, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’ And I said, ‘Honest to God. My [last name I was born with] is Vaziri, but I’ve used Aghdashloo professionally.’ So the character felt familiar.”
And while Arastoo is wary of what his mother’s intentions might be in wanting to meet Cam, Aghdashloo could relate to the protectiveness she got to display as Deena.
BONES: Tamara Taylor Previews ‘The Cold in the Case’

BONES’ Cam and Arastoo have been in a relationship for about a year and a half, but in Monday’s brand new episode, “The Cold in the Case,” they face a common speed bump couples face: stress about meeting the parents.
“Arastoo springs on her a surprise visit from his parents at the very last minute,” Tamara Taylor (Cam) previewed. “He’s not looking forward to it, based on his own past with his parents who have been kind of hard [on him], and maybe a little rough on the women who have been in his life. So he tees up this wonderful dinner [filled with stress] we’re going to go on, and then it all unfolds. I think he’s wonderfully chivalrous, but maybe a little bit misguided.”
The fallout from the dinner for the duo has an unintended impact — Cam, who has always attempted to keep personal matters out of the workplace, won’t be able to hide some of the tension she’s facing in her relationship with Arastoo.

BONES has been on a hiatus due to its upcoming move back to Monday, but now, the show is just days from returning.
“[‘The Source in the Sludge‘]’s a good one to fall on the return to Monday nights,” BONES creator Hart Hanson told reporters on a conference call earlier today. “We’re really pleased.”

BONES has booked another big name guest star to play the parent of a familiar character: Shohreh Aghdashloo will guest star in an upcoming episode as squintern Arastoo’s mother, Deena Vaziri, a rep for the show confirmed. The Hollywood Reporter was first to report the casting.
As the BONES executive producers teased, Arastoo’s parents will be coming to town to meet his girlfriend, Cam.
BONES returns with new episodes on Monday, March 10th at 8 PM on Fox.
