BROOKLYN NINE-NINE Boss Dan Goor Teases Season 2

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE had a number of cliffhangers when its first season concluded — Jake confessed his feelings for Amy he before went undercover with the mob, and Gina and Boyle ended up in bed together — but when the show returns, B99 co-creator Dan Goor joked that the comedy would take a morbid twist: “Everyone dies!”

And while Goor was teasing with that particular spoiler, he was able to say a little bit more about whether there will be a time jump when the show picks up in season 2, and what comes next…

Fox Announces 2014-2015 Schedule

With Fox shifting into year-round programming, there are a good amount of new shows debuting this fall, but a whole lot of shows are being saved for 2015. (And in terms of returning scripted, non-animated shows, only SLEEPY HOLLOW, NEW GIRL, and THE MINDY PROJECT are starting Fall 2014 in the same slot they started Fall 2013 in.)

“Our portfolio of content this year reflects the biggest investment in programming we’ve ever made,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) in a statement. “FOX is redefining the network experience on our air and as a 24/7/365 platform, with distinctive series, addictive event dramas and can’t-miss live specials that will deliver broadcast’s most youthful audience at scale.”

Fox Renews THE FOLLOWING, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, THE MINDY PROJECT, and NEW GIRL

Fox has opted to issue more early renewals for some of its shows: THE FOLLOWING, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, THE MINDY PROJECT, and NEW GIRL have been ordered for next season.

“These shows are some of the best and acclaimed series on television, with influential, culture-driving stars, and some of the best, most creative talent behind the camera,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, and Joe Earley, Chief Operating Officer, Fox Broadcasting Company in a statement. “All four are core assets within our 2014-15 portfolio of content, and we’re really happy to bring them back to our FOX fans for another season.”

THE FOLLOWING and THE MINDY PROJECT will be going into their third seasons. NEW GIRL will be going into its fourth. BROOKLYN NINE-NINE will be going into its second.

The shows join GLEE, SLEEPY HOLLOW, and BONES as returning (non-animated) shows set for the 2014-2015 season. The press release says “additional pickups to be announced,” with ALMOST HUMAN, DADS, ENLISTED, RAISING HOPE, RAKE, and SURVIVING JACK still awaiting official word on their fates.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE Exclusive Video: ‘The Heart of Brooklyn’ Teases the Boyle/Diaz Relationship

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE’s Boyle and Diaz may be an inevitable coupling (if you believe Boyle, that is), but the duo isn’t without their own share of drama. (And the relationship could be potentially get even more tense as Boyle meets a new love in tonight’s brand new episode.)

To showcase the ups and downs they’ve been through so far, the Fox promo department has put together a hilariously serious video to showcase the Boyle/Diaz relationship, telenovela-style.
