CASTLE is back, and Castle has been found (alive), but what the author was up to in the months he was missing is still up for debate. Luckily for him, he does have an excellent team on his side who is determined to help him figure things out.
I spoke with CASTLE star Tamala Jones (Lanie) about what role Lanie will play in Castle’s case, what’s in store for Lanie/Esposito, what episode was a “total shock” to her, and more…

CASTLE season 7 kicks off tonight!
Take a look at everything you missed this summer, including photos from tonight’s season premiere, an episode tease, and all the links you’ll need to catch up on what went down…
CASTLE
CASTLE - "Driven" - In the Season 6 finale, as Richard Castle drove to his much-anticipated nuptials, an ominous black SUV bore down on him. Meanwhile, after waiting in vain for Castle to arrive at the wedding, Beckett was called to an accident scene to find Castle's car in a ravine, engulfed in flames. Who or what caused the car crash? Is there any way Castle could have survived? The episode will pick-up at the scene of that accident, right where the finale left off, in a premiere that promises to put Beckett through the toughest case of her career. Season 7 of "Castle" begins on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Kelsey McNeal)SEAMUS DEVER, JON HUERTAS, STANA KATIC

Comments Off on CASTLE’s Tamala Jones: What Happened to Castle is ‘Pretty Intense’
CASTLE’s seventh season kicks off tonight, and when the show returns, Castle is still MIA after his car was run off the road…as he was on his way to marry Beckett.
“I can tell you that it’s going to pick up exactly where the season left [off],” CASTLE star Tamala Jones (Lanie) teased. “Castle didn’t show up [to the wedding]. Kate Beckett is at the scene of the accident with Castle’s car. I can pretty much tell you, exactly where we left, we’re going to pick back up again. We’re not going to take you on a merry-go-round. It’s pretty intense what happened to Castle. I can’t wait to see it.”
The hour, “Driven,” takes its toll on all of the characters, and for Lanie, she’s asked to do something she’s never had to do before: investigate a live body.
CASTLE Season 7 Premiere: Watch the Opening Scene for ‘Driven’

CASTLE Season 7 Premiere: ‘Driven’ You Ask, I Answer
September 18, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
CASTLE left fans in quite the position when the sixth season concluded — instead of Beckett and Castle getting their happily ever after, Castle’s car was run off the road, and he was presumed dead. (Though, the show is called CASTLE. So while he may be MIA, odds of him actually being dead were slim.)
And with the premiere less than two weeks away, ABC made “Driven” available to press. Unsurprisingly, when I asked for your questions, you guys came out in droves. Unfortunately, a lot of what you wanted to know was on the list of things I can’t talk about (or things I don’t think it’s right to flat-out spoil), so I can’t answer as many questions as you might like. But hopefully you’ll get some fun teases out of this…

THE CARRIE DIARIES patriarch, Matt Letscher, is guest-starring in the CASTLE season 7 premiere, a rep for the show confirmed.
Letscher — who has had roles on SCANDAL, BENT, BROTHERS & SISTERS, ELI STONE, and GOOD MORNING, MIAMI — will play Henry Jenkins, a security consultant, who helps Beckett with a very, very important case.
TVLine was first to report Letscher’s casting.

ABC Developing a Series Based on the CASTLE-Created Derrick Storm

Comments Off on ABC Developing a Series Based on the CASTLE-Created Derrick Storm
This could get interesting/complicated: an ABC rep has confirmed that the network is in the early stages of developing a series based on the Derrick Storm book series.
What makes this extra crazy is that the Storm series was “written” by CASTLE’s title character Richard Castle (played by Nathan Fillion). In fact, Castle “killing off” Storm was one of the reasons why he first partnered with Beckett in the television series — Castle needed a new muse, and Beckett inspired Nikki Heat. (It was later revealed that Storm faked his own death.)
The pilot is set to be written by Gregory Poirier, and will be executive produced by CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe and CASTLE executive producer Terri Edda Miller.
Like CASTLE’s Heat series, several Storm books and graphic novels have been actually released. No word yet on whether any of those stories will be a part of the potential upcoming show.

Comments Off on CASTLE Scoop: Chad Michael Collins to Guest Star
Chad Michael Collins (who has guest starred on over a dozen shows, including ONCE UPON A TIME, LAST RESORT, CSI, and GREEK) will guest star on an upcoming episode of CASTLE, ABC has confirmed.
Collins (who announced his casting on his Facebook page) will appear in the (planned) third episode, “Clear & Present Danger.” He’s set to play Tom Talmadge, “a tech start-up entrepreneur who was assaulted under mysterious circumstances.” (Perhaps the “invisible” killer case that CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe teased?)
Are you excited to see Collins on CASTLE?

WAREHOUSE 13’s Eddie McClintock is heading to the upcoming Fox series, BACKSTROM, a rep for the show confirmed.
McClintock (who first announced his casting on Twitter) will play Lieutenant Sam D’Agostino, Backstrom’s (Rainn Wilson) childhood bully. According to the studio, “When they were kids, Sam was a rotten, thieving punk, responsible for stealing from Backstrom…[and] in cahoots with his equally rotten brother. All grown up now Sam and his brother are firefighters who everyone thinks are heroic but Backstrom is convinced they’re the same worthless bits of slime they always were.”

CASTLE’s sixth season ended in a way many fans didn’t expect: instead of Castle and Beckett tying the knot, he disappeared on the way to their wedding…and was presumed dead. But since the show is called CASTLE, it’s fairly safe to say the show won’t be going down that tragic path.
To get a little bit of insight into what’s to come, I sat down with CASTLE creator, Andrew Marlowe, and new showrunner, David Amann, to talk about season 7, how Castle’s absence is impacting the people who care about him most, and more…
