Check out photos from “The Things We Do,” which includes a sizable crossover with CHICAGO FIRE

Though the ONE CHICAGO universe had a three-show event early in the season, the upcoming crossovers will be a bit smaller.

CHICAGO MED boss Andrew Schneider teased that CHICAGO P.D.’s Burgess appears in episode 10, while folks from FIRE appear in episode 12. (And, of course, P.D.’s Jay has been popping up on MED a fair amount this season to help his brother, Will.)

CHICAGO P.D.’s Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) has had quite the busy season so far…but much of it has been on fellow ONE CHICAGO series CHICAGO MED.

Though Jay has been a full-time presence on his original series, he’s also appeared in seven of the first nine episodes of MED, as his brother, Will (Nick Gehlfuss), accidentally became entangled in a crime investigation and had to work as an undercover agent for the feds.

CHICAGO MED returns from its winter hiatus on Wednesday, January 9 with “All The Lonely People.”

In the episode, it’s been a few months after the botched Manstead wedding. The good news? It doesn’t take Will (Nick Gehlfuss) long to get home—and reunite with Natalie (Torrey DeVitto).

Check out photos from the episode, which also includes a guest spot from CHICAGO P.D.’s Marina Squerciati

CHICAGO MED kicked off its fourth season with Will (Nick Gehlfuss) and Natalie’s (Torrey DeVitto) engagement—and it’s been nothing but trouble for the duo ever since.

Almost immediately after, Will (accidentally) became entangled with an undercover operation after treating his old friend Ray Burke (Dennis Cockrum). And while having to keep that from Natalie has caused a rift between the couple—and has become increasingly dangerous for Will as Ray’s health declines—“it all comes to a head [in the fall finale],” executive producer Diane Frolov teases. “And there’s a very big surprise.”

The final CHICAGO MED episode of 2018 is a big one: it’s time for Will (Nick Gehlfuss) and Natalie (Torrey DeVitto) wedding!

Of course, the couple has had its bumps in the road, and his current gig as an informant is surely going to bubble up in a big way. But will it be before or after they say “I do”? (After all, the EPs only said they’d get to a wedding…)
