With another ONE CHICAGO crossover airing on Wednesday, October 3, producer Dick Wolf acknowledged that “any and all” intertwining of the shows works at this point.
CHICAGO MED, FIRE, and P.D. air in a solid block on Wednesdays, which has also made things easier when it comes to crossing between the worlds. “The great thing about them being stacked, is the second week [of the season] is a three-way crossover that is unabashedly the Towering Inferno,” he told reporters in the video below. And with the ownership of the night, the network was able to easily flip MED and FIRE’s normal time slots to have the story more naturally flow, starting with the aforementioned fire.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: NBC Boss Robert Greenblatt on Cast Changes and the Show’s Future, Plus Dick Wolf Teases a CHICAGO PD Crossover

Comments Off on LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: NBC Boss Robert Greenblatt on Cast Changes and the Show’s Future, Plus Dick Wolf Teases a CHICAGO PD Crossover
LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT has had its share of shakeups over the past few seasons, but the past few months have led to two mainstays departing the squad: Sergeant Munch (Richard Belzer) and Captain Cragen.
“I think the cast member changes have been the natural attrition of a show that’s 15 years old,” Robert Greenblatt told reporters after his executive session.. “I think it’s been great to bring new cast members into the show as well.”
But just because the show is down two people, Greenblatt said fans shouldn’t expect any new faces to suddenly appear any time soon.
