As the Cloud 9 employees were faced with learning a new company app in SUPERSTORE’s “Employee App,” the characters were delighted by one reveal: an audiobook of the CEO’s autobiography, which was read by Emily Deschanel.
“I’m a total BONEShead,” Sandra (Kaliko Kauahi) enthused. And Sandra didn’t waste any time downloading the audiobook, as Deschanel read the intro to the book—”Who Run the World? Me”—and the start of the Zephra CEO’s story.
So how did Deschanel—who had done previous voiceover work on THE SIMPSONS, AMERICAN DAD, and THE CLEVELAND SHOW—come to be on the show? Series creator Justin Spitzer—who returned to the comedy to make his directorial debut (he’s also working on a new NBC pilot AMERICAN AUTO)—explained via email how it went down… Read more

In “Bart’s Not Dead,” Bart winds up in the hospital after a dare goes awry. But when his fib about going to Heaven gets attention, the family is offered a movie deal.

BONES: Emily Deschanel on Kim Raver’s Character and Defending Booth

Comments Off on BONES: Emily Deschanel on Kim Raver’s Character and Defending Booth
As reported earlier in August, Kim Raver is part of a 2-episode arc on BONES this year—and the arc happens to be the first two episodes of the year. The show is treating the two episodes as a two-part premiere. The first episode airs tonight on Fox at 8 PM and the second next Thursday night.
There are other teaser posts about the premiere, and after the episode, we’ll have a post-mortem with co-showrunner Michael Peterson and my episode recap, so I won’t say too much more here, except to say that I really loved Raver’s turn as Agent Grace Miller.
Her character does butt heads with several other characters we know and love, but that is what I enjoyed about it. I think BONES does a great job integrating new characters (Aubrey being a good example), but for the most part, the new characters quickly come into alignment with the existing themes/characterizations that exist in the BONES-universe. Agent Miller challenges the audience’s perspective of Booth.
On paper, it’s true—he is a bit of a mess, he has suffered tremendous trauma, he can be dangerous, and he presents a risk. But for those characters who know him (and us in the audience), Booth’s track record doesn’t speak to his entire character. I came away from the first two episodes liking the idea that the real Booth is somewhere in the middle—not the guy in an FBI dossier against him, but also not as perfect or pure as some of the characters (and again us in the audience) make him out to be either.
On a recent conference call, I asked BONES star Emily Deschanel (Brennan) what it was like to work with Raver and what it was like to interact with a character who didn’t know Booth quite so well… Read more

BONES is back for its 11th season, and when things pick up, it’s months after Booth and Brennan left their jobs to start over.
Unfortunately, things aren’t super great — Booth goes missing, and Kim Raver’s Agent Miller is recruited to help find him.

After two weeks of Give Me My Remote readers nominating their television favorites from the past year, it’s time to vote for the 5th Annual GMMR TV Awards!
Most of the categories have five nominees, but due to ties, the number can vary per topic. (And, as a reminder, each category can only have two nominees per show, so only the top two vote-getters from any series moved forward to the voting round.)
Next up: “We’re Preemptively Sorry You Got Robbed of an Emmy Nod (Female).”

BONES 206: The Heart of the Show
April 27, 2015 by Sarah Curtis
The BONES 200th episode was such a huge milestone and production that it’s no wonder the 206th episode may come and go with a bit less fanfare. But, as fans, we know that the 206th is special—after all, there are 206 bones in the human body! With that in mind, we wanted to do a little something special to mark the occasion.
We found a list of all 206 bones (thank you Wikipedia!) and were surprised to learn that all of the bones can be grouped into five categories: vertebral column, chest, head, arm, and leg. From there, we assigned each category a show representation:
- Vertebral Column (What’s the backbone of the show?)
- Chest (What are the defining emotions or heart of the show?)
- Head (What is unique in terms of the show’s smarts and respect of intelligence?)
- Arm (What’s the show’s outward focus; how does BONES affect culture?)
- Leg (What has carried the show over the long haul?)
Between now and when the 206th episode airs (Thursday, April 30th), we’ll be covering one category per day. We have our thoughts, and we also have input from some of the cast and crew of the show. We’ve covered the backbone of the show, and now it’s time to talk about the heart.

BONES celebrated its 200th episode last week (for all the coverage on that, check here!), and the actors got to go a little out of their comfort zone as they played characters who were investigating a murder in the 1950s.

BONES: The Cast and Producers Share Memories From Their First Days on the Set

BONES’ 200th episode is airing this Thursday, and as Fox Television Group Chairman and CEO Gary Newman pointed out during an on-set celebration, it’s one of only a few Fox shows to reach that incredible milestone.
To celebrate how far Team BONES has come, I asked the cast and producers for their first memories of working on the series. Check out what BONES creator Hart Hanson, executive producer Stephen Nathan, as well as stars David Boreanaz (Booth), Emily Deschanel (Brennan), Michaela Conlin (Angela), TJ Thyne (Hodgins), Tamara Taylor (Cam), John Boyd (Aubrey), Carla Gallo (Daisy), Eugene Byrd (Clark), Michael Grant Terry (Wendell), Pej Vahdat (Arastoo), Laura Spencer (Jessica), Ignacio Serricchio (Fuentes), and Cyndi Lauper (Avalon) had to share…
The BONES Cast and Producers Tease Episode 200

Comments Off on The BONES Cast and Producers Tease Episode 200
BONES is telling a different kind of story for its 200th episode — sure, a body is discovered, but the episode is set in Hollywood in the 1950s, and Brennan is a cop, while Booth is a jewel thief.
And since the hour is bringing back a lot of familiar faces, I asked BONES executive producers Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier, as well as stars David Boreanaz (Booth), Emily Deschanel (Brennan), Michaela Conlin (Angela), TJ Thyne (Hodgins), Tamara Taylor (Cam), John Boyd (Aubrey), Carla Gallo (Daisy), Eugene Byrd (Clark), Michael Grant Terry (Wendell), Pej Vahdat (Arastoo), Laura Spencer (Jessica), and Ignacio Serricchio (Fuentes) for their best teases about the hour…
