THE BOYS franchise expands today with its new series GEN V. But the series comes at a strange time in the industry—the WGA strike just ended, and the actors’ guild will begin their negotiations with the AMPTP on October 2.
“Look, it’s a little scary,” THE BOYS creator (and GEN V executive producer) Eric Kripke told Give Me My Remote in August, before the WGA strike ended. “We can’t promote it, and we want to—the WGA rules are a little more lax than SAG. SUPERNATURAL writers and actors have been regular fixtures on the WGA and SAG-AFTRA picket lines—including a mini-reunion picket on August 10—but they made it official with a jam-packed reunion picket on Thursday, August 31 at the Warner Bros. lot.

When SUPERNATURAL aired its 300th episode in February, a very special viewer watched the Winchester family have a bittersweet reunion: series creator Eric Kripke.
Kripke ran the first five seasons of the (very) long-running WB-turned-CW drama, but left in 2010 after he finished his intended arc for the show. (He’s created REVOLUTION, co-created TIMELESS, and ran the upcoming Prime Video series THE BOYS in the years since his departure.)
The writer has always been a vocal supporter of the series, but the milestone prompted tweets about the hour itself and a look back at where everything started. Read more
