FAMILY GUY season 13 kicks off tonight!
Take a look at everything you missed this summer, including photos from tonight’s season premiere, an episode tease, and all the links you’ll need to catch up on what went down…
Fox’s description of the premiere: “In “The Simpsons Guy” episode of FAMILY GUY, Peter and the Griffins get out of dodge and end up in Springfield, where they are greeted by a friendly stranger named Homer Simpson (guest voice Dan Castellaneta), who welcomes his new “albino” friends with open arms. The families get along famously: Stewie and Bart (guest voice Nancy Cartwright) make out like bandits when Stewie trades in his mind control device for a good old-fashioned slingshot; Lisa (guest voice Yeardley Smith) takes Meg under her wing and teaches her the saxophone; and Peter and Homer fight over the best beer in town – Pawtucket vs Duff.”

‘The Simpsons Guy’: Rich Appel and Steve Callaghan Tease the FAMILY GUY-THE SIMPSONS Crossover

Filed under #1 featured, Family Guy, The Simpsons
FAMILY GUY and THE SIMPSONS’ highly-anticipated crossover finally airs tonight, and while fans of the shows may have been waiting for this for years, there was a good reason to delay the Simpsons and Griffins from meeting: “You couldn’t do a crossover like this until FAMILY GUY had become an institution itself,” FAMILY GUY executive producer Rich Appel pointed out to a small group of reporters earlier this week.
And, yes, while “The Simpsons Guy” is a crossover hour, this is, technically, an episode of FAMILY GUY.
“It’s an episode of FAMILY GUY,” FAMILY GUY executive producer Steve Callaghan explained. “It’s a premiere of FAMILY GUY. And [THE SIMPSONS producers] very kindly, and generously let us invade Springfield.”
In “invading” Springfield, the crossover expanded far beyond the two central families meeting — a whole bunch of Springfield regulars pop up in “The Simpsons Guy.”

Alex Borstein and Yeardley Smith Preview THE SIMPSONS-FAMILY GUY Crossover

When the fall television season kicks off, fans of Fox’s animated shows will get a huge treat: the long-awaited official crossover between THE SIMPSONS and FAMILY GUY! (That’s not counting the nods, digs, and little cameos the shows have had over the years.)
Because of the production schedule for animated series, the stars of both shows have recorded their voice-overs for the episode. For fans who have been anxiously anticipating the event, it’s is an extra bit of good news, because when I caught up with FAMILY GUY star Alex Borstein (Lois) and THE SIMPSONS star Yeardley Smith (Lisa) at the recent Girls’ Night Out event, they were able to tease a bit of what will be going down when the Simpsons and Griffins meet up…
Jane Lynch, Chelsea Peretti, Alex Borstein, Yeardley Smith, and Heather Kadin Share Which TV Characters They’d Like to Have a Girls’ Night Out With

Many of Fox’s fabulous women gathered on Monday night for a panel entitled, appropriately enough, “Girls’ Night Out,” and the women shared their input on their characters, what they struggled with, and some of the perks of the job.
Before the panel, I asked Jane Lynch (GLEE), Chelsea Peretti (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE), Alex Borstein (FAMILY GUY), Yeardley Smith (THE SIMPSONS), and Heather Kadin (SLEEPY HOLLOW) which television character they’d like to have a girls’ night out with…and their answers were fabulous. (And ranged from people like 24’s Nina Meyers to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ Tami Taylor to MARY TYLER MOORE’s Mary.)

Fox Announces 2014-2015 Schedule
May 12, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
With Fox shifting into year-round programming, there are a good amount of new shows debuting this fall, but a whole lot of shows are being saved for 2015. (And in terms of returning scripted, non-animated shows, only SLEEPY HOLLOW, NEW GIRL, and THE MINDY PROJECT are starting Fall 2014 in the same slot they started Fall 2013 in.)
“Our portfolio of content this year reflects the biggest investment in programming we’ve ever made,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) in a statement. “FOX is redefining the network experience on our air and as a 24/7/365 platform, with distinctive series, addictive event dramas and can’t-miss live specials that will deliver broadcast’s most youthful audience at scale.”
