FRINGE Recap: ‘The Boy Must Live’

As we draw very close to FRINGE’s final hours — the last two episodes of the entire series air next Friday — I’m so glad I’ve had a couple weeks to mull over what went down and what that could possibly mean for the course of the show.

After months of teasing, Donald’s identity was revealed in the last new episode of FRINGE…and it was none other than September.
But since they have no idea where he is in 2036, where does Team Fringe go from here?
“Let’s just say that’s not the end of it,” FRINGE showrunner J.H. Wyman teased of the team discovering that their favorite Observer was the one helping Walter come up with a plot to take on the invaders.
Take a look at what else he had to say about the upcoming reveals…

FRINGE: Watch a (Spoilery) Peter-Walter Scene from ‘The Boy Must Live’

I’m torn about the following FRINGE clip being released. On one hand, it’s my absolute favorite scene of the entire antepenultimate episode (and I vaguely mentioned that in my tease post), but it’s also, in my opinion, pretty freaking spoilery. But since Fox released it, clearly they’re OK with it being out there.
So, I’m going to leave it up to you.
I won’t ruin what is said between Peter and Walter in writing. I won’t blame you if you want to wait the next few days until you can see the episode as a whole. But if you do want a tease, here you go…

Top 13 TV Shows of 2012
December 31, 2012 by Marisa Roffman

Once again, I need to start off my list with a caveat: I’m behind on some quality shows. So yes, there may be some amazing television not listed here, but I’m not going to pretend to love a show that gets universal praise just to do it. I love what I love and I certainly watch enough television to speak about a whole lot of shows I do watch. And heck, this list expanded twice (went from 10 shows to 12 until I ultimately settled on 13), and if I had let myself think about it more, it’s likely I could have added another two shows (or 20).
So, with that being said, here are my top 13 television shows of 2012 in descending order…
FRINGE: ‘The Boy Must Live’ You Ask, I Answer

The end is very near, FRINGE fans: when the series returns in 2013, there will only be three episodes left — the three-part series finale.
I had the chance to screen the January 11th episode, “The Boy Must Live,” and in order to not spend my time counting down until the two-hour series finale, I took some of your questions from Twitter about the antepenultimate installment of the show. I’m going to do my best to answer them here, but the intention is not to ruin your enjoyment of the hour (especially since there are only three episodes left of the entire series). So if you asked something super spoilery or specific, it may not get answered. But hopefully you’ll still enjoy these teases…

FRINGE: Blair Brown on Nina Being the Keeper of Information, Reaching Episode 100, and More
December 20, 2012 by Marisa Roffman

Over the past five seasons of FRINGE, Nina Sharp often was the woman who had the answers the Fringe team needed. Alas, since she’s been mainly MIA this season (her only in-the-flesh presence was in “Five-Twenty-Ten”), much of the wisdom she could be bestowing upon our recently-unambered Fringe team about the 2036 world has been left unsaid.
The good news? Nina is back in the mix with this Friday’s brand new episode, “Anomaly XB-6783746.”
I spoke with Blair Brown (Nina) at the FRINGE 100th episode/series finale event about Nina being the keeper of information, why she can’t really tease what’s to come, and reaching the “slightly miraculous” milestone of 100 episodes…

FRINGE Recap: ‘Black Blotter’
December 15, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
I…don’t even know where to start with Friday’s episode of FRINGE.
I suppose that’s a good thing, really. Right now my brain is everywhere and nowhere and very much still in the immediate “WTF did I just see?” phase, so my thoughts are incredibly jumbled. Which given what the heck we saw in “Black Blotter” feels fairly appropriate.
