Comments Off on Gillian Anderson and Tom Hanks Perform Together on THE LATE LATE SHOW
Gillian Anderson and Tom Hanks stopped by THE LATE LATE SHOW while it was in London, and host James Corden helped the duo realize they had similar fears: performing music. (Anderson sang during a recent theater run; Hanks previously played guitar while his wife, Rita Wilson, sang.)
Naturally, that meant the duo needed to actually do a little song together. Hanks pulled out a guitar and played The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” while Corden convinced Anderson to sing a little bit… Read more

Fox Boss Gary Newman on a Potential X-FILES Revival

Fox Television Group Chairman and CEO, Gary Newman, told reporters at the end of the Fox TCA exec session that there were early talks about potentially bringing X-FILES back for an event series.
After the panel, when Newman spoke with reporters, I asked him what the progress was of a potential series, and who would actually be attached.
“What I can say is that if this happens, it’ll be with David [Duchovny (Mulder)] and Gillian [Anderson (Scully)] reprising their roles,” Newman said. “[X-FILES creator] Chris [Carter] is interested, both David and Gillian are interested. Scheduling is very difficult. David has his show, Gillian is doing something in the UK. I really don’t know how fast it can happen, but there are ongoing conversation happening.”
So, um…anyone else excited?!

Holy awesome guest casting, Batman: NBC confirms that former THE X-FILES star Gillian Anderson has signed on for a multi-episode guest arc on their new drama, HANNIBAL.
“Every therapist needs their own head examined and we are ecstatic that Gillian Anderson has chosen Hannibal to mark her return to American television after 10 years to portray Dr. Lecter’s personal psychiatrist,” HANNIBAL creator Bryan Fuller said in a statement to EW.com. (Who was first to break the news.) “Her intelligence and sophistication, not to mention her pedigree of ground-breaking TV, make her the perfect actress to match wits and psychological manipulations with one of the greatest villains of pop culture. I couldn’t be more excited.”
Anderson is set to play Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, who is the psychiatrist to titular character Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen).
So, is the best casting news you’ve seen in a while?
