The villains are causing more trouble than ever in GOTHAM’s second season.
And though there are a slew of new faces in town, one of the biggest threats is constant wild card, Jerome, whose antics are taken to the next level in the show’s sophomore year.
“I think hijinks is the right way to describe it,” Cameron Monaghan (Jerome) told reporters. “Shenanigans, hooliganism, something like that. [Jerome]’s kind of like a living ticking time bomb. He meets a man who realizes how to access that, utilize it, in a way that is extremely destructive on a more massive level than Jerome had previously been [on]. So he gets to basically throw a big party for himself. A big, murderous party.”
Which, naturally, doesn’t go over so well with the Gotham police. Check out the video for more from Monaghan, including his take on Jerome’s rebellious relationship with Jim Gordon…

GOTHAM is back for its second season on Monday, September 21st, and — as the marketing has been touting — it’s all about the villains.
With Fish gone, a whole new crop of villains are here to play. Jerome (who made quite an impact in his season 1 hours) is a player in a big way, and he’s joined by freshly turned bad girl, Barbara, as well as newbies Tabitha and Theo Galavan.
I had the chance to watch the first two episodes of GOTHAM’s second season, and have a few teases to tide you over until the show’s premiere…

GOTHAM’s second season is focusing on the rise of the villains.
Though season 1 boasted quite a few baddies — including Oswald’s rise to power, Nygma’s first kill, and the now-presumed dead Fish Mooney — season 2 is adding a few new faces to the mix, putting Barbara firmly on the villain side of things, and playing a bit with the Joker of it all.
At Comic-Con, GOTHAM executive producers Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon spoke with reporters about the new (and returning) faces coming to season 2…
GOTHAM’s Robin Lord Taylor on Oswald’s Season 2 Power: ‘He’s Running the Show’

Comments Off on GOTHAM’s Robin Lord Taylor on Oswald’s Season 2 Power: ‘He’s Running the Show’
GOTHAM’s Oswald Cobblepot has scored his biggest victory to date at the end of season 1: his mentor-turned-enemy Fish is (seemingly) dead.
And with Fish gone, “he’s running things” in Gotham, Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald/Penguin) told reporters in the video below. “He set out to accomplish that in the first season, got it. He’s the king of Gotham, king of the underworld at the moment…we’ll see how long he holds on to it.”
Since there are new villains heading to GOTHAM in season 2, the struggle for power will likely get a bit more complicated than Oswald anticipated.
Check out the video for more from Taylor, including the characters he hopes to interact with in season 2, why the “honeymoon is over” with Jim, and more…
GOTHAM Season 2 Adds Michael Chiklis

Michael Chiklis is heading to GOTHAM, a rep for the show has confirmed.
Chiklis — who will be a series regular — will play Captain Nathaniel Barnes in the show’s upcoming second season.
“[Barnes] lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force,” the GOTHAM producers told TVLine, which was first to report Chiklis’ casting. “He is a law and order zealot; unafraid of making enemies – on either side of the law. For Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Barnes is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong ally to Gordon… but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy.”
GOTHAM returns Monday, September 21st at 8 PM on Fox.

GOTHAM: Ben McKenzie on the Threat of Barbara

Comments Off on GOTHAM: Ben McKenzie on the Threat of Barbara
GOTHAM season 2 will pit Jim Gordon up against, arguably, his most dangerous foe: his ex-fiancée, Barbara.
Earlier in the series, it seemed like Jim and Barbara were set to follow their comics counterparts: marriage, and perhaps a child. (And likely a divorce.) But with Barbara snapping after her encounter with the Ogre at the end of season 1 — and her subsequent murder of her parents, plus attack on Jim’s new girlfriend, Leslie — the show has firmly deviated from the comics.
“He will deal with her gingerly, with great care,” GOTHAM star Ben McKenzie (Jim) told reporters at Comic-Con. “She’s the closest person [to him] that has gone full-on bad guy…and that doesn’t go away; she doesn’t get less crazy as we go into season 2….[and] when she is that personally invested in destroying him, specifically, and knows him better than anyone, what is she willing to do to get what she wants? Having a psycho ex-girlfriend is scary.”
Check out what else McKenzie told reporters…
