In a time when it feels like the world can use a hero, Apple TV+’s HOME BEFORE DARK is arriving at exactly the right time. No, it’s not about any kind of traditional superhero: It follows a young investigative reporter, Hilde (Brooklynn Prince), who finds herself embroiled in the biggest mystery of her life when her family moves back to the town where her father grew up.
Even better? It was inspired by a real (incredible) young woman.

This April, Apple TV is launching HOME BEFORE DARK, a fantastic new series inspired by the real reporting of young journalist Hilde Lysiak. (The series has already been renewed for a second season.)
The show, Apple TV teases, “follows a young girl (Brooklynn Prince) who moves from Brooklyn to the small lakeside town her father (Jim Sturgess) left behind. While there, her dogged pursuit of the truth leads her to unearth a cold case that everyone in town, including her own father, tried hard to bury.” The drama also stars Abby Miller, Kylie Rogers, Joelle Carter, Jibrail Nantambu, Deric McCabe, Michael Weston, Aziza Scott, and Louis Herthum. HOME BEFORE DARK was created by Dana Fox and Dara Resnik, with Jon M. Chu, Russel Friend & Garrett Lerner, Joy Gorman Wettels, Rosemary Rodriguez, and Sharlene Martin executive producing.

Ahead of its April 3 debut, Apple TV+ has handed a second season order to its new series HOME BEFORE DARK. The first three episodes will debut at once, with new episodes dropping weekly after that.
