On tonight’s brand new episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, it’s Christmas in Mystic Falls, and, well, things are going down. And while things are dramatic in the present, the show has found a way to make the hour a little bit lighter: viewers will see flashbacks of happier years when the friends were together (and able to actually be in Mystic Falls).
To get a little bit more info about what will be going down, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES executive producer Julie Plec and series star Ian Somerhalder (Damon) shared a little preview of “Christmas Through Your Eyes” with reporters…

It’s Thanksgiving time on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, and as Caroline and Elena host a Friendsgiving at their dorm, Damon, Stefan, and Alaric go on a road trip to do some investigating into the Gemini Coven (with the hopes it will lead them to some clues about Bonnie). And back in the 1994 world, Kai is not happy that Bonnie was able to get rid of her powers, seemingly trapping them there forever.
On the show’s Atlanta set, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES stars Ian Somerhalder (Damon), Michael Trevino (Tyler), and Chris Wood (Kai) previewed what’s to come in “Fade Into You”…

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Enzo took his own life last week — kind of — when he willingly let Stefan kill him, but his tormenting of the Salvatore brothers is hardly over.
“We purposely had him show up at the end [of last week’s episode] as a ghost to show, it’s not over,” THE VAMPIRE DIARIES executive producer Caroline Dries told reporters. “His story is not over. And so, he is going to become this ghost villain moving forward. We’ll see him all the way through the finale.”
And while you might think a ghost couldn’t cause too much havoc…well, you’d be wrong.

After a brief period of happiness — and then a breakup that was made worse by a doppelganger — THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Damon and Elena came to the agreement they couldn’t be together…and still ended up back in bed with each other.
So what comes next for the duo? Before this weekend’s PaleyFest panel, I asked TVD star Ian Somerhalder (Damon) what he could tease about the road ahead…
