Many of Fox’s fabulous women gathered on Monday night for a panel entitled, appropriately enough, “Girls’ Night Out,” and the women shared their input on their characters, what they struggled with, and some of the perks of the job.
Before the panel, I asked Jane Lynch (GLEE), Chelsea Peretti (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE), Alex Borstein (FAMILY GUY), Yeardley Smith (THE SIMPSONS), and Heather Kadin (SLEEPY HOLLOW) which television character they’d like to have a girls’ night out with…and their answers were fabulous. (And ranged from people like 24’s Nina Meyers to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ Tami Taylor to MARY TYLER MOORE’s Mary.)

HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT: Jane Lynch Teases the Holiday Episode

Comments Off on HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT: Jane Lynch Teases the Holiday Episode
HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT’s second season won’t officially kick off until January 20, 2014, but if you’ve been missing the show (as you should have been), NBC has a treat for you: a special holiday installment this Monday (December 23rd) at 10 PM.
“Well, basically, we have a tree,” HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT host Jane Lynch told reporters on the set of the series last month. “We played our games with some holiday themes here and there. But basically it’s our ‘coming back on the air and feeling festive [episode]’ — we didn’t play any season-specific [games]. We have Rachel Bilson, Andy Roddick, Brooklyn Decker, Ray Romano, [Gavin DeGraw, and Cheryl Hines as the celebrities competing]. [Andy and Brooklyn] are the first couple. We have a lot of couples coming up. They’re on opposite teams.”
And it may be the holiday season, but the HGN contestants won’t be taking it easy — they’re in it to win.
GLEE: Jane Lynch on the ‘Extremely Cathartic’ Tribute Episode to Cory Monteith

Comments Off on GLEE: Jane Lynch on the ‘Extremely Cathartic’ Tribute Episode to Cory Monteith
Over the summer, the GLEE family was dealt a massive blow when series star Cory Monteith (Finn) passed away from an accidental overdose. Given Finn’s — and Monteith’s — massive presence on the show, the series had no choice but to address his death (albeit, thankfully, in a vague, off-screen, manner), and in tomorrow’s brand new episode, the glee club will say goodbye to their quarterback.
“We all lost Finn Hudson and Cory Monteith,” GLEE star Jane Lynch (Sue) notes in the video below. “And like Cory Monteith, Finn Hudson was the quarterback, and he was the leader. And everybody looked up to him. Everybody. He was well loved..it was an extremely cathartic episode to film.”
Take a look at what else Lynch had to say about the episode…

GLEE’s Sue might have a new job as principal of McKinley High School, but it’s been quite a bit of time since we’ve seen her family. So when I sat down with Jane Lynch (Sue), I asked if viewers could expect to see more from them anytime soon. Plus, why is she fine with not having her heart tied to singing a specific song this season?

All you need is love, love, love…or, maybe, all you need right now is GLEE’s season 5 premiere?
The good news is GLEE returns this Thursday and the first episodes are a two-part tribute to The Beatles. The better news? I sat down with GLEE star Jane Lynch (Sue), and she teased what she’ll be up to in the first few hours of the show’s new season…

HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT: Jane Lynch on Hosting a Game Show, Competitive Celebs, and More

Comments Off on HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT: Jane Lynch on Hosting a Game Show, Competitive Celebs, and More
Summer is the perfect time for fun, enjoyable, fluffy television, and that’s exactly what NBC’s new series, HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT is.
The series, hosted by GLEE’s Jane Lynch, pits two teams — three celebrities and one “civilian” player per team — against each other as they compete in various games created for the competition: trying to describe a TV show in as few words as possible, piecing together a celebrity timeline, identifying a song that has had its words replaced with the word “do,” and many more. And while Lynch doesn’t get to join in on the game-play during the show, she did get to try them out during rehearsals for the show.
“I do love playing the games; I love the games they’ve created,” Lynch told reporters on the set of HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT. “They’re not too intellectually stimulating, they’re all about pop culture…I’m pretty good at them. I’m pretty aggressive and shaming and I’m the person you want on your team, but you do not want to play against.”
For the very-busy Lynch (in addition to GLEE, she also hit Broadway this summer in ANNIE, and did a voice for the first season of the upcoming Fox animated series, MURDER POLICE), the opportunity to host HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT came as a bit of a surprise to her.
GLEE’s 500th Musical Number: Jane Lynch and Naya Rivera Reflect on Their Favorites Songs So Far

GLEE may only be in its fourth season, but this Thursday’s episode brings an impressive milestone: the 500th musical number! (That’s a little mind-blowing, isn’t it?)
At last week’s PaleyFest Icon Award presentation to Ryan Murphy, I spoke with GLEE stars Jane Lynch (Sue) and Naya Rivera (Santana) about which musical numbers stood out to them after all this time…
