With his father floundering, NEW AMSTERDAM’s Reynolds (Jocko Sims) made a big commitment: he told the court he would let his estranged father move in with him.
As the duo navigate their newfound living situation during the show’s two-hour fall finale (kicking off at 9/8c on Tuesday, November 22), “naturally, you have an older gentleman who’s kind of more or less set in his ways, and [they’re] dealing with the fact that he’s bipolar, as well,” Sims explains to Give Me My Remote in the video below. “And Floyd, who’s a young guy who’s trying to rekindle this relationship or lack thereof with his father…he’s a single bachelor, so that’s gonna cause some conflict, for sure. And some comedic moments; I think that will be hilarious for the audience to see.”

The doctors at NEW AMSTERDAM may have been able to get the hospital back from the hackers in “Paid in Full,” but Max (Ryan Eggold) had to make a figurative deal with the devil to get it done…which meant hundreds of workers were laid off.
For the remaining workers, the fallout is “tough,” Jocko Sims, who plays Dr. Reynolds, says in the video below. “And the one that’s affecting him the most, naturally, is losing Baptiste, ironically enough. Reynolds now has this new title, but as he expresses to Sharpe in a scene, something about this doesn’t quite feel right.”

With NEW AMSTERDAM’s Kapoor (Anupam Kher) life on the line, Reynolds (Jocko Sims) returns to New York on the Tuesday, March 9 episode, “Essential Workers.”
“I will say whether or not something happens [with Kapoor]…this season, no character, in general, is safe,” Sims says in the video below. “We’re basing our show in as much reality as possible. The reality is people could die. People could leave, like Reynolds did. And that’s the case. No’s one safe, that’s all I can say about that. So expect the unexpected.”
