Season Finale: Sgt. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and ADA Barba (Ra�l Esparza) take Johnny D (guest star Charles Halford) to trial for sex trafficking, rape, assault and kidnapping. But when Baby Noah’s adoption becomes entangled in the case, Benson fears for Noah’s future and his safety. Amaro’s undercover work sets off a chain of events that puts everyone connected to the case – even baby Noah – in danger. Meanwhile, a new detective assigned to Manhattan SVU (guest star Peter Scanavino) starts off on the wrong foot.”

We’re a week away from the LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT season 16 premiere, and NBC has released two clips from “Girls Disappeared.” And given that last season concluded with Olivia getting custody of Baby Noah, it makes sense that the two teases for the episode are centered around him — one, a loving moment Olivia shares with him, and another where he’s threatened.

NBC Touts ‘Woman Crush Wednesdays’ in New Ad for LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, CHICAGO PD, and MYSTERIES OF LAURA

Wednesdays nights on NBC will be led by tough female cops (with MYSTERIES OF LAURA, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, and CHICAGO PD), so the network brought Mariska Hargitay (SVU), Debra Messing (MOL), and Sophia Bush (CPD) together to film a promo touting “Woman Crush Wednesdays.” (Which is often a trend on Twitter.)

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT’s Sergeant Munch retired from the NYPD in last night’s episode, and to celebrate the occasion, the show brought back some familiar faces from Munch’s HOMICIDE days and gathered them with the SVU troops for a pretty unforgettable roast/goodbye.

And while what aired last night was great, the SVU writers’ twitter account tweeted out an uncut version of roast, and it’s arguably even better.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT Season 15 Premiere: ‘Surrender Benson’ Teases

It’s always a tricky thing when a lead character is placed in serious (arguably grave) danger on television. Realistically, the danger is rarely as serious as the character thinks it is, because television viewers know that the actor/actress is signed on for more of the show.

So, I was very curious how LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT would play out their summer-long “Save Benson” (or #SaveBenson if you’re on Twitter) hiatus tease. At the end of last season, the perp of the week, Lewis, ambushed Olivia in her apartment. Logic dictated Olivia would survive whatever he put her through, but the question was how bad it would be. The promos and photos were absolutely terrifying; it would be bad to see any character like that, but Olivia Benson is someone SVU viewers have spent 14 seasons with. No matter what, it wouldn’t be pretty.

I don’t want to ruin the episode, but there are a few things I’d like to say about the hour before it airs (it’s the first part of a two-hour SVU block tonight on NBC), and then we can talk more specifics in tomorrow’s About Last Night, okay?
