LEVERAGE said its bittersweet goodbye this week as TNT aired “The Long Goodbye Job”…but if the people behind the show have their way, the story may not be totally over.
I spoke with LEVERAGE executive producer Dean Devlin about the series finale, if the show has a life beyond TNT, and more…
LEVERAGE Series Finale: Some Thoughts on ‘The Long Goodbye Job’

Confession: I was dreading watching the LEVERAGE series finale.
It’s not that I didn’t want to see it…it’s just that this show has been so much fun over the years and the knowledge that this was it — even if the late cancellation had led to them treating this as the series finale versus a season finale — made it a little hard to turn the final episode on.
But when I did, I was so happy with what I saw. It was everything I felt a LEVERAGE finale should have been, and if we had to say goodbye, I’m glad it was this way.
Of course, I had a few more thoughts about what went down…

The holiday season isn’t as bright for LEVERAGE fans, as the series will say goodbye with “The Long Goodbye Job”…an episode that was shot without them knowing for certain whether the end was in fact coming. And while the producers decided to go forward with what they planned as the series finale in the hour, the decision to cancel the show only came out late last Friday night.
I spoke with Aldis Hodge (Hardison) before it was revealed that TNT wouldn’t be continuing on with the series, and he expressed his desire to continue on with the series…while still being satisfied with how Tuesday’s now-series finale left the show.
Take a look at that, his favorite episode from this season, and more…
TNT Cancels LEVERAGE

When I spoke with LEVERAGE executive producer Dean Devlin a few weeks ago, he spoke about crafting next week’s season finale as also a potential series finale since its fate on TNT was up in the air. And now, there’s some not great news.
“It has been decided today that this Tuesday’s episode of Leverage ‘The Long Goodbye Job’ will be the series finale as TNT has decided not to renew the show for a sixth season,” Devlin wrote in a letter that was posted on leveragefans.com. “I’m so happy we were able to film the series finale we had always envisioned and I’m happy we’re able to present it on Christmas as our gift to you. It’s a bittersweet goodbye.”
Are you bummed out that LEVERAGE won’t continue? Or are you at least pleased it’ll end with the series finale they always planned?

LEVERAGE: Aldis Hodge Teases ‘The Corkscrew Job’

With only three episodes left of LEVERAGE (and potentially having the end of the series around the corner), it’s time to appreciate what the team is up to.
“The team infiltrates a vineyard, taking on this crooked guy,” LEVERAGE star Aldis Hodge (Hardison) teased of tonight’s installment. “Tonight, you’ll get to see us go full force and have fun like we always do. Hardison gets into a little bit of a scuffle. He may get his knuckles roughed a little bit. That episode, we just had a great time doing it. I think for all the wine aficionados out there, you’re going to love the scenery, because we shot at this amazing vineyard. Oregon is a beautiful place to go wine-tasting; that’s where I got my education on wine. I will say, it was probably the best set we’ve had in all five seasons.”
While Hodge teased a bit about the episode, the point that stood out to me was…Hardison fighting?! And Hodge told me it’s not like his character has any assistance from anyone else.
