With THE FOLLOWING ending its run on Fox, co-showrunner Alexi Hawley has already lined up his next job: he’s re-joined CASTLE for its upcoming eighth season, and he’s been promoted to co-showrunner.
Hawley — who worked on the ABC drama from 2009-2012, and penned nine episodes during that time (including the excellent hour, “Kill Shot”) — will run the show with newly-minted showrunner, Terence Paul Winter. (Current CASTLE showrunner David Amann is stepping down after one year as showrunner.)
CASTLE’s season finale airs this Monday at 10 PM on ABC.

If CASTLE returns for a season 8, it’ll be sans its current showrunner.
An ABC rep has confirmed that there will be a showrunner shift if the show gets renewed for an eighth season. (A decision will be announced about the show’s future in May.) David Amann, the show’s current showrunner, took over for CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe last summer.
One step in the right direction for a possible season 8? Series star Nathan Fillion (Castle) has signed a contract to return.
CASTLE airs Mondays at 10 PM on ABC.

CASTLE Season 7 Premiere: ‘Driven’ You Ask, I Answer
September 18, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
CASTLE left fans in quite the position when the sixth season concluded — instead of Beckett and Castle getting their happily ever after, Castle’s car was run off the road, and he was presumed dead. (Though, the show is called CASTLE. So while he may be MIA, odds of him actually being dead were slim.)
And with the premiere less than two weeks away, ABC made “Driven” available to press. Unsurprisingly, when I asked for your questions, you guys came out in droves. Unfortunately, a lot of what you wanted to know was on the list of things I can’t talk about (or things I don’t think it’s right to flat-out spoil), so I can’t answer as many questions as you might like. But hopefully you’ll get some fun teases out of this…

The first photos from CASTLE season 7 are here, and after last season’s finale which left Castle presumed dead, it shouldn’t be a huge shock which character is MIA in these photos.
Check out what’s in store for “Driven”…
CASTLE
CASTLE - "Driven" - In the Season 6 finale, as Richard Castle drove to his much-anticipated nuptials, an ominous black SUV bore down on him. Meanwhile, after waiting in vain for Castle to arrive at the wedding, Beckett was called to an accident scene to find Castle's car in a ravine, engulfed in flames. Who or what caused the car crash? Is there any way Castle could have survived? The episode will pick-up at the scene of that accident, right where the finale left off, in a premiere that promises to put Beckett through the toughest case of her career. Season 7 of "Castle" begins on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Kelsey McNeal)SEAMUS DEVER, JON HUERTAS, STANA KATIC
The CASTLE season premiere airs Monday, September 29th at 10 PM on ABC.

When CASTLE returns on April 21st, the show is taking a trip to the ’70s…but don’t expect it to be a redux of, “Blue Butterfly,” the noir episode from two years ago.
“We have a really, really fun episode that takes us into the world of the 1970s, into the middle of the disco era,” CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe previewed last month. “It’s a different device than ‘Blue Butterfly,’ that allows us to see our characters in that era. So that’s going to be fun.”

CASTLE: Frances Fisher Previews Her Guest Role in ‘Dressed to Kill’
January 31, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
CASTLE had an unexpected week off, but the show returns this Monday with a brand new episode…and it just happens to dive a bit into Beckett’s modeling past.
In “Dressed to Kill” an assistant at MODERN FASHION is killed, so Beckett and Castle are called to investigate. Unfortunately for Kate, she needs to speak with MODERN FASHION boss Matilda King (a very DEVIL WEARS PRADA-esque/Anna Wintour-like woman), whom Beckett has a history with.
I spoke with CASTLE guest star — and fan of the show! — Frances Fisher (Matilda) to get a little more info about the hour…
