NEW AMSTERDAM: Jocko Sims and Frances Turner on Reynolds and Malvo’s Chemistry and Connection

NEW AMSTERDAM’s Reynolds (Jocko Sims) and Malvo (Frances Turner) find themselves at a crossroads in their burgeoning relationship, as she revealed she’s in an open marriage and interested in him—but he pulled away.

“He seems to be struggling, as far as I’m concerned,” Sims explains in the video below. “He shows up, he [finds out what is going on] and he, in his mind, is strong enough to step away.”

The problem? “He likes her,” Sims admits.

It’s equally messy for Malvo, who admitted she had never pursued utilizing her open marriage until she met Reynolds.

“It’s the connection that they have,” Turner says. “If she’s had this understanding with her husband for however long they’ve had it, and she’s not acted on it, the fact that she’s even thinking about it now…[it] has to be the person that makes her think that maybe this is a good idea; I think it’s him. I think it’s the chemistry that they have.”
