On PERSON OF INTEREST, Root is in quite the interesting dilemma: on one hand, she is connected to her beloved Machine in a way she could only have imagined in the past; on the other hand, she’s locked up in a mental hospital, unable to really take control of her own life.
I spoke with POI star Amy Acker (a newly promoted series regular) about what she knows about Root’s arc for the season, her biggest episode of the season (so far), and more…

PERSON OF INTEREST
"Liberty" -- The Machine, now completely self-governed with its whereabouts unknown, resumes giving Finch its "irrelevant" numbers for people in danger, which include a U.S. naval officer in town for Fleet Week. However, with so many sailors flooding the streets of New York City, finding the officer in time presents an even bigger challenge for Reese (Jim Caviezel, pictured) and Shaw, on the third season premiere of PERSON OF INTEREST, Tuesday, September 24 (10:00 âÂÂ11:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. CBS’ description of the premiere: “The Machine, now completely self-governed with its whereabouts unknown, resumes giving Finch its “irrelevant” numbers for people in danger, which include a U.S. naval officer in town for Fleet Week. However, with so many sailors flooding the streets of New York City, finding the officer in time presents an even bigger challenge for Reese and Shaw. Meanwhile, Carter has been demoted to a patrol officer as a result of her being set up by the corrupt police crime organization HR, and sets a plan in motion to eradicate them for good. Also, Root tests the boundaries of her new asylum surroundings.”

Comments Off on PERSON OF INTEREST: Sarah Shahi and Amy Acker Tease the Season 3 Premiere
PERSON OF INTEREST kicks off its third season tonight, and as it has been teased, Shaw (Sarah Shahi) and Root (Amy Acker) will be a more regular presence on the show.
“In the first episode, it’s me undercover, taking somebody down in the teaser, actually,” Shahi laughed. “It’s pretty much me chasing bad guys and shooting them while wearing a very tight, black dress. So hopefully that will get people excited. The Machine’s whereabouts are still not known [in the premiere]. The Machine talks to Finch and Root now…but Finch is not aware of that.”
Yep, the Machine is still talking to Root. Unfortunately for Root, though, she’s still locked up in a psychiatric facility when the show resumes.

PERSON OF INTEREST: Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman on Season 3, Moving to Tuesdays, and More
September 19, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Person of Interest
PERSON OF INTEREST is making a big move: after spending its first two seasons on Thursdays, the series will make the move to CBS’ very popular Tuesday lineup this year.
And it’s not like the people behind the series are taking this move for granted: PERSON OF INTEREST creator Jonathan Nolan shared that they have very big things planned for fans.
“We came into this season knowing two big pieces of where we were going,” Nolan shared. “It’s going to be an exciting, exciting season. We got some big questions, and hopefully, some big surprises.”
To see what else I could dig up about POI’s third season, I spoke with Nolan and executive producer Greg Plageman about the show predicting this summer’s real-life government controversies, adding two more series regulars to the roster, and more…
PERSON OF INTEREST: EPISODES’ Kathleen Rose Perkins to Guest Star
August 22, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
EPISODES star Kathleen Rose Perkins is heading to PERSON OF INTEREST, a rep for the CBS series has confirmed.
Perkins (who first revealed the guest spot on her Twitter account) will be playing Vanessa, a former prosecutor who “outwitted and outworked everyone before she quit her job.” And while it might seem like she’s one of the good guys, she’s described as “intelligent, intense, and always three steps ahead…vulnerable, unpredictable, but never without purpose, we don’t know whether to sympathize with Vanessa… or fear her.”
Uh oh…
PERSON OF INTEREST’s third season kicks off on Tuesday, September 24th at 10 PM on CBS.

PERSON OF INTEREST has expanded its cast: Amy Acker (Root) — who has been causing trouble for Finch and Reese since season 1 — will officially be a series regular in season 3, it was announced during Saturday’s Comic-Con panel.
Additionally, the show had a little bit of fun with how PERSON OF INTEREST basically foreshadowed the recent NSA-hacking scandal with their awesome sizzle reel. Take a look at what Con-goers saw…

Comments Off on PERSON OF INTEREST: Michael Emerson Shares His Favorite Episodes From the First Two Seasons
After two seasons of it being impossible to legally watch PERSON OF INTEREST online, the series has finally made its way to iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and other digital retailers.
And since summer is the perfect time to catch up on the shows you may have missed during their original run, I spoke with PERSON OF INTEREST star Michael Emerson (Finch) at last week’s Saturn Awards to find out which episodes he was most hoping fans would check out…
