Seth Gabel has been a familiar presence on television the last few years — with roles on FRINGE, DIRTY SEXY MONEY, ARROW, and more — and when I caught up with him to talk about playing Cotton Mather on SALEM, WGN America’s first scripted original series, he had nothing but excitement about his new role.

Right now, the cast of WGN America’s first original scripted series, SALEM, is hard at work filming the show’s freshman season. And while the show doesn’t launch for another two months, in the time leading up to its April 20th series premiere, I’ll have some interviews with the show’s creative forces going up to tease what you can expect from the series.
Up next? SALEM star Shane West (John), who went basically right from NIKITA’s final season to this new role.

WGN America is branching out to original scripted shows, and first up is SALEM, a reexamination of the infamous Salem witch trials, starring Shane West, Seth Gabel, Janet Montgomery, Ashley Madekwe, Xander Berkeley, Tamzin Merchant, and Elise Eberle.

SALEM — a new scripted series which reexamines the infamous Salem witch trails — will have its debut on WGN America on Sunday, April 20th, the network announced.
Per WGN American, SALEM “explores how suspicion and fear gripped Salem and its residents, and reveals the truth that in Salem, the witches were real, but not who they seemed to be.” The series stars Shane West, Seth Gabel, Janet Montgomery, Ashley Madekwe, Xander Berkeley, Tamzin Merchant, and Elise Eberle and comes from Brannon Braga and Adam Simon.
