Sarah Shahi is already set to have a big 2019, but her gig on Showtime’s CITY ON A HILL features a fun perk: a reunion with her former PERSON OF INTEREST co-star Kevin Chapman. (Their characters, Shaw and Fusco, were a part of the show’s central group, dubbed Team Machine.)

CHICAGO FIRE’s Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) ended the season in a good place—after a brief bump in their relationship caused by the reappearance of his ex Renée (Sarah Shahi)—but can it last?
“There’s bumps in the road, but the ship is still sailing,” Mayo told reporters in the video below. “It’s still going to get to that destination of love and happiness. I have faith.”
Added Kinney: “It’s been a good run…they’re in a good place in their relationship; it transfers into the working relationship. It’s nice to have someone who has your back.”

Comments Off on REVERIE: Sarah Shahi on Mara’s Family Mystery
On NBC’s REVERIE, Mara (Sarah Shahi) has a tragic familial backstory—her sister and niece were killed by her brother-in-law.
But thanks (perhaps) to her new job at Reverie, which allows its users to retreat into memories/fantasy situations, Mara is now seeing her deceased niece.
“You don’t know is she seeing things? Is she going crazy? Is the program messing with her mind?” Shahi told reporters in the video below. “Mara starts going crazy. And it was so much fun playing that.”

After more than a decade and a half working in television, Sarah Shahi had a bit of freedom in trying to find her next project. Enter NBC’s REVERIE, a new drama about Mara, a former hostage negotiator (played by Shahi), who is recruited by her former boss, Charlie (Dennis Haysbert), to try and coax civilians out of a high-tech virtual-reality program where one can relive important moments from their past.
PERSON OF INTEREST: Sarah Shahi and Greg Plageman Preview Shaw’s Season 5 Return
August 11, 2015 by Marisa Roffman
PERSON OF INTEREST has officially pinned down the return of Sarah Shahi’s Shaw.
“Sarah Shahi should be back by episode 5,” PERSON OF INTEREST co-showrunner Greg Plageman shared. “She’s a trooper man, she’s doing a lot. But she’s ready to go, she says I want to be back, and we’re very excited to have her.”
On the show, Shaw went MIA after she sacrificed herself to save Team Machine. Initially, she was presumed dead, but viewers have seen brief glimpses of Shaw — clearly not right — in the months since. (Shaw’s temporary exit was crafted to accommodate Shahi’s real-life pregnancy.)
And though PERSON OF INTEREST isn’t on CBS’ fall schedule, the airdate limbo could serve to bring back Shahi earlier than planned.

PERSON OF INTEREST: Sarah Shahi Teases Tonight’s Shaw Flashback
October 22, 2013 by Marisa Roffman

Comments Off on PERSON OF INTEREST: Sarah Shahi Teases Tonight’s Shaw Flashback
PERSON OF INTEREST’s Shaw might be quasi-part of the team at this point, but much of her past/history has been a mystery at this point. But that will soon change.
“There’s a flashback in [tonight’s episode], where we get to see her, and what made Shaw the way she is,” Sarah Shahi (Shaw) teased.
For Shahi — who knew none of what gets revealed tonight when she initially took the role — discovering things about Shaw as the show progresses is a bit of a mixed bag.
“When I first read the [first] script [Shaw was in], or even when I get anything, I definitely try and fill in my own backstory with it, my own interpretation of why things are [they way they are],” she explained. “[PERSON OF INTEREST creator] Jonah [Nolan] and I have had discussions about her, and what makes her tick. And it’s a very open communication I have with him in terms of ideas and who she is. It’s something we’re still formulating together, so it’s a challenge [to be partially in the dark], yeah. And the best parts of my job are [often] the things that are not on the page. Those [explorations] are the things that make it so much fun to play, and the difference between a two-dimensional character and someone who is multidimensional.”

Any theories about what tonight’s flashback will reveal about Shaw?

PERSON OF INTEREST: Jonathan Nolan, Greg Plageman, and Sarah Shahi Tease ‘Lady Killer’

Comments Off on PERSON OF INTEREST: Jonathan Nolan, Greg Plageman, and Sarah Shahi Tease ‘Lady Killer’
It’s time for the women of PERSON OF INTEREST to take center stage in tonight’s brand new episode, “Lady Killer.” And while at first glance, it might seem like a simple one-off, there are deeper issues being raised in the hour.
“I think it’s a good example of a standalone story that opens up Carter’s character in a fun sort of way,” PERSON OF INTEREST executive producer Greg Plageman teased to reporters after a screening of the episode. “But also the Root storyline is giving us a greater glimpse into the serialized aspect regarding her relationship with the Machine and what that’s going to mean for her and Finch.”
“Never underestimate a strong woman who has access to a networked artificial intelligence,” executive producer Jonathan Nolan pointed out.
Of course, none of this might have been possible if the show hadn’t committed to expanding the world these characters live in with regular guests (Paige Turco’s Zoe) and more permanent quasi-allies (Sarah Shahi’s Shaw).
