Comments Off on SUPERNATURAL: Alexander Calvert on Jack’s Drive in the Apocalypse World, Richard Speight Jr. Directing, and More
On Thursday’s episode of SUPERNATURAL, Jack (Alexander Calvert) has big plans in Apocalypse World…but that could lead to trouble.
“As we’ve seen, Jack wants to kill Michael to save everybody in Apocalypse World,” Calvert previews. “We’re definitely going to see how Jack’s drive and pursuit of that one goal is going to put him at odds with people that he is very close to.”
It’s a difficult transition—and potential risk—for Jack. “Throughout the season, he has definitely been looking to be a part of a family,” Calvert says. “For the time being, he found that role in Apocalypse World. Looking after this group of people, working with Mary and [Bobby]. What he deals with in this episode is he has this new role.”

“Unfinished Business” also brings the return of Osric Chau’s Kevin Tran to the Apocalypse World. Though Calvert says he wouldn’t go so far as to say the two men form any kind of relationship (at least yet), he is thrilled so many familiar faces continue to pop up in the alt-world. “The great thing about Apocalypse World has been bringing people back from other seasons,” he says. “It’s a little family reunion.”

As SUPERNATURAL gears up for the final arc of its season, Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) are on the hunt for the remaining items that will allow them to return to the Apocalypse World. (Sam and Dean’s mother, Mary, is currently there, as is Lucifer’s son, Jack.)
“Eventually they’ll get all that they need,” SUPERNATURAL executive producer Robert Singer teased prior to the show’s PaleyFest panel. “The run-up to [the end of the season] is as big as we’ve done, in an odd way. We’re excited where the story is taking us.”
“Seeing what Jared and Jensen do, it’s always exciting for us,” added executive producer Andrew Dabb, who cited the next couple of episodes as installments he was most excited for fans to see. (The long-running CW series has also officially been renewed for next season, as well.)

‘Scoobynatural’: The SUPERNATURAL Producers Tease the ‘Just Insane Enough’ Hour

Comments Off on ‘Scoobynatural’: The SUPERNATURAL Producers Tease the ‘Just Insane Enough’ Hour
SUPERNATURAL is no stranger to bizarre episodes—like season 6’s “The French Mistake,” when Jared Padalecki’s Sam and Jensen Ackles’ Dean were sent to an alternate reality where their lives were actually a show called SUPERNATURAL—but Thursday’s episode takes things to a whole new level.
In “Scoobynatural,” Sam, Dean, and Castiel (Misha Collins) wind up in the world of SCOOBY-DOO (much to the delight of Dean), and have to both solve a case plus how to get back to their world.
Prior to the show’s PaleyFest panel, executive producer Andrew Dabb acknowledged crafting an episode like this is a tightrope. “The challenge is not letting it go too far out of the box,” executive producer Andrew Dabb says in the video below. “Because it still needs to be an episode of SUPERNATURAL. We don’t want to go too insane. We wanted to go just insane enough.”
Check out more from Dabb, as well as episode director/executive producer Robert Singer and executive producer Eugenie Ross-Leming. Read more

Get ready for a very animated SUPERNATURAL…literally.
In Thursday’s new episode of the long-running CW drama, Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) find themselves transported to an animated reality, where they cross paths with the Scooby gang.
The CW released a featurette ahead of the ridiculously fun episode, “Scoobynatural,” which shows footage of the show’s stars recording their dialogue, some of the rough animation (and well as clips from the hour), and more.

Zoinks! SUPERNATURAL is crossing over with SCOOBY-DOO in the March 29 episode of The CW series.
“Scoobynatural” had its world premiere at Tuesday’s PaleyFest, and fans weren’t the only ones watching the hour for the first time—series stars Jared Padalecki (Sam), Jensen Ackles (Dean), Misha Collins (Castiel), and Alexander Calvert (Jack) also saw the finished product.
The installment was a long-time in the making, with Padalecki, Ackles, and Collins recording their part of the episode over a year ago. “The three of us got in the booth together,” Ackles recalled during the PaleyFest panel. “There were a lot of cameras, so you’ll see it in the special features [on the DVD].”

As the Winchester brothers are trying to figure out what’s going on with the Darkness/Amara on SUPERNATURAL, they aren’t the only ones with a vested interest in what’s going on — Castiel, Crowley, and Rowena all have their own takes on the situation. (Though in the case of Crowley and Rowena, their agendas might be a bit more selfish.)
