Though Comic-Con has found a way to go on, remotely, after its cancellation, one thing can’t really be replicated with virtual panels: the off-site activations.
In years past, networks and studios have gone all out, with pop-up WESTWORLD experiences, the bonkers SLEEPY HOLLOW virtual reality experience, NBC recreating THE GOOD PLACE’s neighborhood and SUPERSTORE’s Cloud 9, FX’s arena, and so much more.

Attention shoppers: NBC brought a Cloud 9 pop-up to San Diego Comic-Con.
While the series also hosted its first-ever Con panel, fans were also treated to a small off-site display where they could take “Employee of the Month” photos and browse what was for sale at the big box store—and the items had an NBC twist.

NBC is hosting panels and activations for three of its comedy shows at Comic-Con: SUPERSTORE, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, and THE GOOD PLACE.
B99 and THE GOOD PLACE had panels last year (with TGP having a sizable activation), but this will be SUPERSTORE’s first official time at the convention.
In addition, NBC is transforming Tin Fish Restaurant into NBC’s Comedy Café, which is “celebrating some of the network’s favorite comedies with branded menus, custom content and more.” (Con-goers are encouraged to pre-register on Wednesday, July 10 by visiting www.nbcsdcc.com.)
