HBO Max ordered three new adult animated shows, including a two-season order for the CLONE HIGH reboot.
Additionally, the streaming platform has ordered VELMA, an original story of the SCOOBY DOO character, with the main character voiced by Mindy Kaling, and FIRED ON MARS, a workplace comedy starring Pete Davidson.
The platform has also ordered season 2 and 3 of CLOSE ENOUGH, with the sophomore season set to debut on Thursday, February 25.
“It is a tremendous privilege to build on the 100 year plus legacy of ‘cartoons’ at this company. We can draw a straight line from our hundreds of childhood hours spent watching Bugs outwit Elmer to the current slate of adult animated projects we are building here at HBO Max and we think fans will agree,” said Suzanna Makkos, EVP, Original Comedy and Adult Animation, HBO Max, in a statement. “We are proud to introduce this distinctive group of series from a wide range of diverse creators that will form a first stop destination for animation lovers everywhere.”

SUPERSTORE’s Dina (Lauren Ash) reunites with her father on the Thursday, January 16 episode in the aftermath of a tragic loss.
“Dina is inspired to reach out to her dad, Howard (Dean Norris), after beloved co-worker Myrtle (Linda Porter) dies,” executive producer Jonathan Green and Gabe Miller teased via email. “Howard is similar to Dina in a lot of ways, but as they try to make up for lost time, she has to come to terms with the pain he caused her when he left the family.”
