The annual Syfy TWILIGHT ZONE marathon is a delightful tradition, and this year’s binge has extra significance: 2019 marks the show’s 60th anniversary. (Syfy has been running the New Year’s Eve marathon for 23 years.)
This year, the marathon kicks off at 11 PM on December 30 and ends January 2 at 7 AM. Included in the lineup is “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet,” which is being remade in the upcoming CBS All Access version of the popular anthology series.

Syfy has ordered THE MAGICIANS to series, the network announced. The first season will consist of 12 episodes.
Per Syfy, THE MAGICIANS — which is based upon Lev Grossman’s best-selling books — the series “stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, Aquarius) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real – and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie) and Summer Bishil (Towelhead, Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.”
THE MAGICIANS comes from AQUARIUS’ John McNamara and former SUPERNATURAL showrunner Sera Gamble.

12 MONKEYS — inspired by the 1995 film — is coming to Syfy in early 2015, and not only is the pilot a delight, but the network has released extended trailer about what’s in store.
In case you aren’t familiar with 12 MONKEYS, per Syfy the series follows “a time traveler from a decimated future in a high-stakes race against the clock. Utilizing a dangerous and untested method of time travel, he journeys from 2043 to the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will all but annihilate the human race. ”

Syfy has renewed HELIX for a 13-episode second season, the network announced.
“HELIX has built one of our most loyal and consistent audiences in its first season on Syfy,” Bill McGoldrick, EVP, Original Content, Syfy, said in a statement. “The incredibly talented writing and producing team have crafted a thriller that consistently delivered suspense, twists and high quality drama. We look forward to growing this passionate audience in what promises to be an even more memorable second season.”
Season 2 of HELIX is expected to debut winter 2015.
