More than 35 years after CBS debuted THE EQUALIZER series (where it ran from 1985-1989; there were also two Denzel Washington-led films in the 2010s, that were inspired by the franchise), a new version is coming to television—directly after SUPER BOWL LV.
In the drama, Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) is a former CIA operative who returns home to her family—a teenage daughter, Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes), and her Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint)—but finds herself drawn to helping those who are down on their luck.

Eddie (Eddie Cibrian) and Sam’s (Rachel Bilson) latest case is highly personal: Sam’s former fiancé Dylan (Greyston Holt)—who publicly dumped her—asks the duo to help him recover an important asset. (Something Sam herself has a stake in.)
“It’s one of my favorite episodes,” TAKE TWO co-creator Terri Edda Miller teases. “It just brings so much depth to Sam’s character that we haven’t seen before. [Plus,] it gives you a preview of how Eddie is starting to look at her.”
“I think that it is the trajectory [viewers see of] where Sam ended—her show was canceled, and her fiancé dumped her on the red carpet—and how is she going to behave [now]? How is she going to react to that? And how are she and Eddie going to deal with each other with this third person in the picture?”
Check out some photos from the hour, “Ex’s and Oh’s”!

For TAKE TWO’s mismatched duo Sam (Rachel Bilson) and Eddie (Eddie Cibrian), their partnership has been a roller coaster already. Sure, former superstar Sam has enjoyed her time tagging along with P.I. Eddie, but he’s been a bit cranky about her presence.

Over eight seasons, CASTLE’s Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) bantered, solved crimes, and eventually started a life together. Now, Andrew Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller—two of the biggest forces behind CASTLE—are back with a new romantic-dramedy to help fill the void.
In TAKE TWO (airing Thursdays at 10/9c), ABC’s newest (light) procedural, actress Sam Swift’s (Rachel Bilson) shadowing of private investigator Eddie Valetik (Eddie Cibrian) quickly leads to something more: a genuine partnership, as Sam realizes she actually enjoys this new gig.
Eddie, for his part, isn’t immediately thrilled with Sam’s presence…but he does appreciate the new business she’s bringing in. And in Thursday’s episode, “The Smoking Gun,” Sam is once again able to prove her worth, including using her acting skills to get some much needed evidence.
But what comes next? Marlowe and Miller broke down why they were drawn to do TAKE TWO, how they’re handling a will they/won’t they relationship in 2018, and why CASTLE fans may want to keep their eyes peeled on an upcoming episode…

CASTLE: Stana Katic to Return for Season 8

Comments Off on CASTLE: Stana Katic to Return for Season 8
CASTLE’s leading lady will officially be a part of season 8: Stana Katic (Beckett) has signed a deal to return for next year, ABC has confirmed. (Nathan Fillion (Castle) signed on for season 8 last month.)
Last night’s season finale featured Beckett at a crossroads as she had to decide whether she’d pursue becoming a captain or going down the path of a political career. By the end of the hour, she was undecided, so viewers will get some resolution to that story.
The upcoming season will feature some behind-the-scenes changes, however. As previously reported, current showrunner David Amann is stepping down, with long-time CASTLE writer Terence Paul Winter and former CASTLE writer/current THE FOLLOWING co-showrunner Alexi Hawley taking over as co-showrunners. Additionally, CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe and executive producer Terri Edda Miller confirmed on Twitter that they’re leaving the series. (Marlowe and Miller co-wrote last night’s excellent finale.)
Update: An ABC rep has confirmed that the supporting cast has also signed on for season 8.

CASTLE Episode 100: Andrew Marlowe Reflects on the Show’s Early Years and Teases ‘The Lives of Others’
March 29, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
A little over four years ago, a ruggedly handsome fiction writer named Richard Castle found a muse in the form of a kick-ass — yet vulnerable — NYPD detective Kate Beckett. Sparks flew, he pulled some strings with his buddy (the mayor), and he got permission to follow her around for the foreseeable future…as research for a book, naturally.
Now, CASTLE is just a few days away from celebrating a massive milestone: episode 100. In the past 99 episodes, there has been love (Castle/Beckett), loss (RIP, Montgomery), weddings (Ryan/Jenny), hookups (Lanie/Esposito), closure (Beckett’s mother murder case), and so much more.
To reflect a little bit on how far the series has come, I spoke with CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe about his memories of the show’s early years, important moments, and the special 100th hour…
