The CW Opts to Make THE FLASH Pilot a Standalone Hour

The Flash plans for ARROW have changed.
Originally, The Flash (who will be played by Grant Gustin) was set to have a three-episode arc on ARROW (episodes 8, 9, and 20), with the final hour serving as a backdoor pilot that introduced us more extensively to Barry Allen’s world. However, a CW rep has confirmed that while the first two episodes of the arc will play out as planned (with Barry/The Flash coming to Starling City), the official backdoor pilot (episode 20) will now be made as an official, separate pilot. (Meaning, you’ll only see it if The CW opts to pick the show up to series.) There’s no word yet on what ARROW will do with the episode, now that it won’t be featuring The Flash.
The change was first reported by Deadline.
Are you sad we’re getting less of The Flash on ARROW?

And we have early renewals: The CW has given pickups to ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES!
“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit ARROW and fan favorite SUPERNATURAL on Wednesday night, and the continued success of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW in a statement. “Not only do ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. 13 FEAR IS REAL Scares Itself on to Your TV Tonight
January 7, 2009 by Kath Skerry
Filed under #1 featured, The CW
I don’t do scary. So living in a horror movie is definitely not my idea of fun. But hey, these days people will do just about anything for 15 minutes of reality show fame and a few bucks. Hence the premise of tonight’s new CW reality show, 13- FEAR IS REAL.
We’ve known reality shows have been like bad horror movies for years, but now it’s come full circle. Thirteen people compete to “stay alive” as they face their deepest fears in an all-out elimination competition and scare-fest. Pitted against each other in situations straight from the horror movies, the 13 will face shocking surprises, psychological scares and lots of “beware of the dark” moments, all designed by a “mastermind” of terror. In addition to frightening them, he’ll also entice individuals to work in concert with him and against the others, creating a situation in which the 13 will not only look over their shoulders but will also never be certain who is real before them.
