Comments Off on THE NEWSROOM: Jeff Daniels Reiterates the Series Will Return for Season 3
More than two weeks ago, THE NEWSROOM star Jeff Daniels tweeted, “It’s official. #Newsroom coming back for a Season 3.” However, since then, HBO has yet to make an announcement that the series will return, despite the fact that the season 2 finale has already aired.
After Daniels won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series on Sunday, he reiterated that the show would be coming back — and that HBO had given him the okay to release the news.

Get ready for THE NEWSROOM season 2: HBO has announced the Aaron Sorkin drama will return on Sunday, July 14th at 10 PM.
Last month at PaleyFest, Sorkin told me that season 2 will pick up a week after the first season ended, and will go through the 2012 election. What they weren’t sure about at the time was whether the show’s second season would also include the events of Sandy Hook.

We still have several months to go, but the first three PaleyFest 2013 shows have been announced — new series REVOLUTION and THE NEWSROOM will make their PaleyFest debuts, while ONCE UPON A TIME will return to be honored again.
The full line-up will be announced January 9, 2013, but odds are good we’ll get at least a few more shows announced before then.
In the meantime, which shows are you hoping get honored?
