THE ROCKFORD FILES turns 50 on Friday, September 13—and Great Entertainment Television (get.) is celebrating the milestone by hosting weekend marathons of the detective series throughout the month of September.

The James Garner-led series, which was created by Roy Huggins and Stephen J. Cannell, ran from 1974 through 1980. (The series also spawned multiple TV movies.) According to get., “The series follows James Garner’s Jim Rockford, a pardoned former inmate of San Quentin turned private investigator. The show follows Rockford cracking cases, talking his way out of trouble, and dodging trouble with the police.”
