THE SIMPSONS has taken on LEGOs, a record-breaking marathon, and so much more this year. But if you’re a Los Angeles-based fan of the long-running animated series, something arguably even cooler is happening this weekend: THE SIMPSONS will be taking over the Hollywood Bowl.
For three nights only, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra — as well as special guests including event host/SIMPSONS star Hank Azaria, SIMPSONS creator Matt Groening, SIMPSONS stars Yeardley Smith and Nancy Cartwright, plus Conan O’Brien, Beverly D’Angelo, Jon Lovitz, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, Vaud and the Villains, and Kipp Lennon — will accompany classic SIMPSONS scenes shown on a big screen. (And there are tickets still available.) It’s going to be pretty incredible.
I spoke with Smith about the fantastic event, and she teased what she’ll be singing — and then demonstrated a bit of the song in question. Check out the video!

THE SIMPSONS fans got a treat when the series launched its syndication run on FXX: the network aired all 25 seasons (and the movie!) in one giant marathon — dubbed, appropriately, “Every. Simpsons. Ever” — over 12 consecutive days in late August/early September.
I sat down with THE SIMPSONS star Yeardley Smith (Lisa) to talk about the “incredibly gratifying” fan response to the uber-SIMPSONS marathon…

A character will die on THE SIMPSONS’ season premiere, and while the tease Yeardley Smith (Lisa) gave recently knocks out many of the suspects listed in the video below (which was first shown at the show’s Comic-Con panel), the brief clip is a nice little dose of SIMPSONS to get us through the summer months.

THE SIMPSONS producers have been teasing an upcoming character death for a while, and early on in the upcoming season, viewers will learn which character will meet an untimely death.

When the fall television season kicks off, fans of Fox’s animated shows will get a huge treat: the long-awaited official crossover between THE SIMPSONS and FAMILY GUY! (That’s not counting the nods, digs, and little cameos the shows have had over the years.)
Because of the production schedule for animated series, the stars of both shows have recorded their voice-overs for the episode. For fans who have been anxiously anticipating the event, it’s is an extra bit of good news, because when I caught up with FAMILY GUY star Alex Borstein (Lois) and THE SIMPSONS star Yeardley Smith (Lisa) at the recent Girls’ Night Out event, they were able to tease a bit of what will be going down when the Simpsons and Griffins meet up…

Many of Fox’s fabulous women gathered on Monday night for a panel entitled, appropriately enough, “Girls’ Night Out,” and the women shared their input on their characters, what they struggled with, and some of the perks of the job.
Before the panel, I asked Jane Lynch (GLEE), Chelsea Peretti (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE), Alex Borstein (FAMILY GUY), Yeardley Smith (THE SIMPSONS), and Heather Kadin (SLEEPY HOLLOW) which television character they’d like to have a girls’ night out with…and their answers were fabulous. (And ranged from people like 24’s Nina Meyers to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ Tami Taylor to MARY TYLER MOORE’s Mary.)

Fox Announces 2014-2015 Schedule
May 12, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
With Fox shifting into year-round programming, there are a good amount of new shows debuting this fall, but a whole lot of shows are being saved for 2015. (And in terms of returning scripted, non-animated shows, only SLEEPY HOLLOW, NEW GIRL, and THE MINDY PROJECT are starting Fall 2014 in the same slot they started Fall 2013 in.)
“Our portfolio of content this year reflects the biggest investment in programming we’ve ever made,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) in a statement. “FOX is redefining the network experience on our air and as a 24/7/365 platform, with distinctive series, addictive event dramas and can’t-miss live specials that will deliver broadcast’s most youthful audience at scale.”

THE SIMPSONS is getting the LEGO treatment this Sunday!
“It’s a terrific episode, written by Brian Kelley, who, a long while ago, said, ‘What would happen if Homer, in his imagination, went into a world of LEGO?’” THE SIMPSONS executive producer Al Jean told reporters last month. “And there’s a reason that he does, and there’s a reason he prefers it. And we contacted LEGO company to see if they would authorize it, and it’s animation that looks like LEGO CGI for much of the show, and there’s some regular SIMPSONS animation. And it’s going to be the 550th episode airing in May. It’s been in the works a long time: about a year and a half on our end.”
To celebrate the occasion, Fox has released a photo of The Simpsons family in LEGO form…
