THE FLASH: Robbie Amell to Recur
July 9, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under The Flash, The Tomorrow People
THE FLASH has yet to debut, but it is getting a little extra superhero help: a rep for the show has confirmed that the show has cast Robbie Amell in the recurring role of Ronnie Raymond (AKA Firestorm). Amell will debut in THE FLASH’s third episode.
“Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting,” THE FLASH executive producer Greg Berlanti said in a statement. “We can’t wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out.”
Amell — who is cousins with ARROW star Stephen Amell (whose show hosted the introduction of THE FLASH’s Barry Allen, and who will appear in THE FLASH pilot) — is also a familiar face to The CW fans: he spent last season as the lead of THE TOMORROW PEOPLE.
Are you excited to see Amell on THE FLASH?

GMMR TV Awards: The Winners Revealed!
June 30, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, GMMR Awards
After weeks of nominations and voting, you have determined who should take home the fourth annual Give Me My Remote TV Awards!
Before we get to the winners, I want thank everyone who participated in our annual contest. Without your nominations and votes, it would just simply be me saying what I loved the most, and what fun is that? (And in case you think your vote might not have made a difference, while most winners won by hundreds — or thousands — of votes, one category was won by TWO votes.)
Which also means this is a good time to remind you that these winners are 100% decided by you, the Give Me My Remote readers, and some fan bases came out in droves (and mounted really impressive campaigns). So if you’re delighted by the winners, yay! I’m so happy to hear that. And if you’re disappointed, a) sorry, and b) hopefully you’re satisfied with at least one category.
So with all that being said, the winners of the fourth annual GMMR TV Awards are…

GMMR TV Awards: Worst Series Finale (Unplanned) – Vote Now!
June 18, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
After two weeks of Give Me My Remote readers nominating their television favorites from the past year, it’s time to vote for the 4th Annual GMMR TV Awards!
Most of the categories have five nominees, but due to ties, the number can vary. (And, as a reminder, each category can only have two nominees per show, so only the top two vote-getters from any particular series moved forward.)
Next up: “Worst Series Finale (Unplanned).”
Take a look at your nominees and then vote for your choice below!
Which Newly Canceled Shows Are You Going to Miss the Most?
May 27, 2014 by Marisa Roffman
As we say goodbye to the 2013-2014 television season (and look ahead to the 2014-2015 season), there is the unfortunate fact that as per usual we had to say goodbye to a lot of shows. Some were planned (BREAKING BAD, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, etc.), and others…not so much.
Television is kind of a crazy medium to get invested in. For (most) books and movies, there’s a set beginning, middle, and end for each story, so even if only five people actually view it, the full story is still there. Not so much in TV. Even long-running shows can be canceled at the drop of a hat, and the number of series that get to end things wholly on their own terms still is minimal.

Season finale: Russell (Aaron Yoo) realizes his alliance with The Founder (guest star Simon Merrells) was a mistake, and tries to make up for his decision by saving Cara (Peyton List) from an Ultra ambush. Stephen (Robbie Amell) understands that he must be the one to stop The Machine and the extermination of humanity, but he fears he may be too late. Russell offers up a plan to help Stephen, but he is going to need everyone’s help, including John (Luke Mitchell) and Astrid (Madeleine Mantock), if they are going to have any chance to survive. Meanwhile, Jedikiah (Mark Pellegrino) offers John an interesting opportunity that could have them working together again.
