GMMR TV Awards: Most Disappointing Season – Vote Now!

After two weeks of Give Me My Remote readers nominating their television favorites from the past year, it’s time to vote for the 4th Annual GMMR TV Awards!

Most of the categories have five nominees, but due to ties, the number can vary. (And, as a reminder, each category can only have two nominees per show, so only the top two vote-getters from any particular series moved forward.)

The CW Upfronts: Stars from ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, and More Celebrate the 2014-2015 Season

The CW celebrated its upcoming television season this week with a presentation of the planned 2014-2015 schedule, and a party that brought out stars from its current shows (ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, and more), as well as the shows that will debut next season (THE FLASH and JANE THE VIRGIN).

The CW has released their Fall 2014 schedule and THE ORIGINALS is on the move, THE FLASH won’t be paired with ARROW, but aside from that (and one other new show), things are pretty much the same.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: Caroline Dries and Ian Somerhalder on Enzo’s Return, and Damon and Elena Tension

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Enzo took his own life last week — kind of — when he willingly let Stefan kill him, but his tormenting of the Salvatore brothers is hardly over.

“We purposely had him show up at the end [of last week’s episode] as a ghost to show, it’s not over,” THE VAMPIRE DIARIES executive producer Caroline Dries told reporters. “His story is not over. And so, he is going to become this ghost villain moving forward. We’ll see him all the way through the finale.”

And while you might think a ghost couldn’t cause too much havoc…well, you’d be wrong.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine/Amara) has had one heck of a year: in addition to adding another character to her already impressive roster for the series, she’s had to play multiple doppelganger death scenes, one doppelganger impersonated another for an extended period of time…and then there was the general, “normal,” trauma Elena was put through. (As it the norm for characters on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.)

PaleyFest 2014: THE ORIGINALS and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES Panel Photos

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and its spinoff, THE ORIGINALS, were honored during PaleyFest on Saturday night in Hollywood, and stars Paul Wesley, Phoebe Tonkin, Danielle Campbell, Joseph Morgan, Nina Dobrev, Claire Holt, Ian Somerhalder, Charles Michael Davis, Leah Pipes, and Daniel Gillies, as well as executive producers Julie Plec, Michael Narducci, and Caroline Dries participated in panels about The CW hits.

THE ORIGINALS: Julie Plec on the Possibility of Rebekah Returning via Flashbacks — or to THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

THE ORIGINALS shocked viewers when the show said goodbye to one of the core family members, Claire Holt’s Rebekah, in the March 11th episode of the freshman series. (Holt’s decision to leave the show was what prompted the writers to send Rebekah out of town.)

But THE ORIGINALS is a series that, so far, has relied on flashbacks to the siblings’ past tensions and relationships to explain and expand on what is going on in the present. So before Saturday night’s PaleyFest panel for THE ORIGINALS and its mothership series, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, I asked THE ORIGINALS boss Julie Plec if it was plausible to expect to see Rebekah in those flashbacks — or if it was possible for her to turn up on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES again.
