THE VOICE season 17 is going to have its biggest coaching change yet, as it’ll be the first time in the series’ run the panel will be sans Adam Levine. (Originally, the Maroon 5 frontman was signed on to return; he announced his exit two weeks later.)
With Blake Shelton now the only original coach left standing, he’ll be joined for the new season by Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Gwen Stefani.

When Adam Levine abruptly left THE VOICE in May—after initially signing on for the next season—the show reached out to former coach Gwen Stefani to fill his slot.
“I haven’t talked about it yet, because it was such a shock,” Stefani said in the video below, during an appearance on THE TALK. “I wanted to come back so bad. I mean, the show is so fun. And Adam’s actually the first person to reach out to me when they were trying to pitch me the show [originally]. He texted me out of nowhere, and I didn’t even really know him. To think that he’s not going to be there is like bittersweet.”
