BONES creator Hart Hanson has a bit of experience adapting a book series into a successful/long-running TV series, and this season, he’ll try to work that mojo again with his new show: BACKSTROM, a new Fox procedural (starring THE OFFICE’s Rainn Wilson), which is based off a book series with the same name by Leif G.W. Persson.

BACKSTROM: Created and executive-produced by Hart Hanson (BONES), offbeat comedic crime procedural BACKSTROM centers on Detective EVERETT BACKSTROM (three-time Emmy Award nominee Rainn Wilson, “The Office,” “Six Feet Under”), an unhealthy, offensive, irascible – albeit brilliant – detective who is brought back from exile to run the Portland Police Bureau’s Special Crimes Unit (S.C.U.). BACKSTROM will join the schedule in 2015 on FOX.
