Television viewers don’t necessarily need more cop shows on television…but, really, if NBC wanted to make a series out of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jimmy Fallon’s “True Confessions” game, I’d watch the heck out of it.
On tonight’s episode of THE TONIGHT SHOW, the long-time friends took turns recounting stories from their past — and then the other two had the chance to try and poke holes in the tale to determine whether they were telling the truth or not. And it was glorious.

NBC Orders 13 Episodes of a New Comedy From Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, Starring THE OFFICE’s Ellie Kemper

Comments Off on NBC Orders 13 Episodes of a New Comedy From Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, Starring THE OFFICE’s Ellie Kemper
NBC has ordered 13 episodes of a new comedy starring THE OFFICE’s Ellie Kemper and written by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock about a woman “who escapes from a doomsday cult and starts life over in New York City.”
“We have been lucky enough to work at NBC for our entire careers (except when Robert worked at ‘The Dana Carvey Show,’ now available on DVD) and we thank Bob and Jen for their continued support,” said Fey and Carlock in a statement.
“Tina and Robert, who cemented their partnership on ‘30 Rock,’ have created a new signature comedy for us that is audacious, emotional, and clever,” said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. “While tapping into very relatable themes, there isn’t anything like this anywhere else on television. NBC has been their home for many years and we’re so happy that they’ve found another way to push the comedy envelope for us.”
“Original voices like Tina and Robert don’t come along very often and we wanted them back on the air as soon as possible,” added Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “And to have them working with Ellie Kemper — who we watched grow up on ‘The Office’ from supporting player to leading actress — puts the whole package together. We feel fortunate to be in business with this entire creative team on something so funny, unique, and attention-getting.”
Does this show intrigue you?

Sure, you saw the touching — or weird — Emmy speeches during the live broadcast last night, but oftentimes the real fun (and the strangest comments) come when the winners come backstage and speak with the press.
Take a look what many of last night’s winners had to say, including a winner who took the time to plug another show, a (fake) 30 ROCK reunion pitch, weird Emmy statues plans, and more…

Fox Orders Tina Fey, Matt Hubbard, and Robert Carlock Comedy Straight-to-Series

Comments Off on Fox Orders Tina Fey, Matt Hubbard, and Robert Carlock Comedy Straight-to-Series
The fall season — and the glut of new shows it will bring — may still be about a month away, but that hasn’t stopped Fox from ordering its first series of the upcoming season: a comedy from 30 ROCK’s Tina Fey, Matt Hubbard, and Robert Carlock.
According to The Hollywood Reporter (which was one of several outlets to report the order), the project is an untitled multicamera comedy, which “takes place at a women’s college that has just opened its doors to men for the first time.” But sorry Fey fans, there’s no plans for her to star in this series.
While it’s still super, super, super early in the process, does the show sound like something that might intrigue you?

30 ROCK — “Senor Macho Solo”
January 9, 2009 by Kari
Filed under #1 featured, 30 Rock
At last! Our long 30 ROCK holiday has ended, and the start of a brand new year brings fresh opportunities for all: love interests for Liz and Jack, a possible Janis Joplin headliner for Jenna, and plenty of loud quasi-public desk sex for Tracy and his wife.
Liz’s ongoing (and slightly feral) baby obsession has her fondling every infant, toddler, and little person in sight, which is what leads her to mistakenly pat UN delegate Stuart LaGrange (Peter Dinklage) on the head at a streetlight. Thank goodness our quick-thinking Lemon is aces at turning her own PC faux-pas into lemonade (sorry), as she finds herself ensnared in one more half-hearted relationship based almost entirely on her guilty conscience. Alas, their love match is doomed from the start when she persists in smothering the poor guy with her best intentions: “What if I order a tall coffee, or talk about my Nintendo Wii?” she asks Jenna, before rescuing Stuart from the flames of a street vendor’s grill and warning him to be careful crossing the street. (Especially good was her assumption that Kenneth thinks Stuart is a troll when he asks what it’s like to live under the Williamsburg bridge.) The callback at the end was nice, too, as she mistakes another young tot for Stuart, effectively sabotaging her own “SATC”-style happy reunion as only Liz Lemon can.
