THE GOLDBERGS: Adam F. Goldberg and Wendi McLendon-Covey Tease the Royal Wedding-Inspired ‘The Facts of Bleeping Life’

THE GOLDBERGS is tackling one of the biggest moments of the ’80s in tonight’s brand new episode: the wedding between Prince Charles and Lady Di.
“That was a huge deal growing up,” THE GOLDBERGS creator Adam F. Goldberg acknowledged. “My mom waited up until 4 in the morning to watch it. I remember that. Her and her friends were obsessed with it. Every writer, when I told them to come up with ideas over hiatus, every one wrote, ‘How about a Royal Wedding/Princess Di episode?'”
And so, in tonight’s episode, the Royal Wedding inspires Bev and Murray to look at their own wedding, and debate the merits of renewing their vows.

THE GOLDBERGS — one of the best new shows from last season — returns for its second season tonight, and while the summer has passed for the family, one thing has remained the same: Beverly is as smother-y as ever.
“The premiere is called ‘[Love is a] Mix Tape,’ and my son (Adam) has made a mix tape for a special lady,” THE GOLDBERGS star Wendi McLendon-Covey (Beverly) teased in character. “I assume that’s me. I am a very special lady, you understand — I don’t understand why he would have someone else.”
And while one might assume the song selection might have tipped off others, Beverly has found a way to justify the track list on “her” gift.

THE GOLDBERGS is new tonight and Barry’s desire to join the wrestling team will hit a considerable speed bump: his mother.
But Barry won’t be the only Goldberg having drama — Adam blackmails Erica into going to see RETURN OF THE JEDI with him, but when she accidentally loses their spot in line, Adam is irate.
Before the recent Paley panel honoring the ABC series, Troy Gentile (Barry) teased his character’s foray into wrestling, and Wendi McLendon-Covey (Beverly) lamented not being in the STAR WARS storyline…but shared what real-life STAR WARS-related experience she was super excited to do…

THE GOLDBERGS is finally back with new episodes this Tuesday, and unfortunately for the family, all of the kids are going through a bit of a rough time: Erica is going through a breakup, and Barry’s addiction to a video game ends up sucking in Adam, too.
The Paley Center honored the ABC freshman comedy on Monday night, and before the panel, I spoke with series stars Wendi McLendon-Covey (Beverly), Jeff Garlin (Murray), Troy Gentile (Barry), and Hayley Orrantia (Erica) to see what they could tease about “The Age of Darkness.”

THE GOLDBERGS has established itself as one of the best shows on television, and tonight’s episode sounds like another good one: Adam tries to navigate whether guys and girls can be just friends, we get another glimpse at Big Tasty from Barry, and Erica tries to throw off Beverly’s smothering instincts.
I spoke with THE GOLDBERGS star Wendi McLendon-Covey (Beverly) about what’s to come on the comedy, getting to meet the real Beverly Goldberg, and more…
